Here’s what they had to share with the mag… Christian, on when lawyers forbade him from contacting Cheney: “I said, ‘Wait, every real person I’ve ever played I’ve always met.’ And they said, ‘Yes, but you’ve acquired their life rights.’ I would like to be able to sit and look Cheney in the eye and say why I feel like it’s justified to tell his story, you know? And I hope I will do it one day.” Amy, on her protective feelings toward Lynne Cheney: “I still feel the need to defend Lynne when people talk about her. For me, it was my relationship with my grandmother. My grandmother who grew up in Provo, Utah, working-class. She reminded me so much of Lynne. I would just think of her and her offering me money to rub her bunions. ‘Amy, I’ll give you a quarter.’” Christian, on how he stayed neutral towards Dick Cheney: “What I really wanted to make sure that I did is that I removed any of my own politics from it … I was completely always looking for the good, for the positive, for the understandable aspect of why he would’ve made the decisions that he made. It was precisely to counter Adam and to counter what would be the assumed standpoint of the bunch of Hollywood liberals.” For more from the stars, visit HollywoodReporter.com......»»

PHOTOS: Check out the latest pics of Amy Adams “It was really important to me to take my own, personal politics out of it and really find the human in Lynne and I try to do that for all of my characters,” Amy expressed. “Especially in this time — I think something we’ve lost is really finding the humanity in people who think differently than we do, so that’s something I believe in anyway.” “She did write a book which was really helpful for me but I didn’t know about her background,” Adams continued. “She’s very well-spoken, she’s very intelligent and she’s very outspoken as well so it was nice to get into a more intimate side of her, her relationship with her family and her contribution to her husband.” The evening before, Amy stopped by the Late Show with Seth Meyers and talked about the ways she got into character on set of Vice, and why she brought a fart machine to the set of Sharp Objects – Watch more after the cut! The Favourite, A Star Is Born, Roma Lead the Oscar Nominations, Bradley Cooper Snubbed

With Roma, Netflix has scored […] More The post The Favourite, A Star Is Born, Roma Lead the Oscar Nominations, Bradley Cooper Snubbed appeared first on Socialite Life. Alfonso Cuaron’s Roma and Yorgos Lanthimos’s The Favourite lead nominations announced today for the 91st Academy Awards, scoring 10 nods each, including for best picture. With Roma, Netflix has scored its first best-picture nomination, something the streaming giant had dearly sought. The Best Picture category has eight nominees for 2019. Bohemian Rhapsody and Green Book, two movies that have been the subject of controversy and were previously honored with Best Picture trophies at the Golden Globes, are both nominated, as is last year’s biggest Hollywood success story: Black Panther. The big snubs: Bradley Cooper was nominated for best actor for A Star Is Born, but missed out on a nomination for best director. Another best director snub for Ryan Coogler for Black Panther. Ethan Hawke seemed like a shoo-in for his critically lauded work in First Reformed. This one is truly shocking, the Fred Rogers documentary Won’t You Be My Neighbor? was a heavy favorite to win best documentary. That won’t happen now that it has not been nominated. If Beale Street Could Talk did not make the best picture cut, nor did director Barry Jenkins in the best director category. The big surprises: Spike Lee earned his first best director nod. Ever. This year he’s nominated for BlacKkKlansman. Black Panther made history being the first superhero film to be nominated for best picture. Willem Dafoe was nominated for best actor in the little-seen At Eternity’s Gate for his role as Vincent Van Gogh. Here is the full list of 2019 Oscar Nominations: Best Picture Black Panther BlacKkKlansman Bohemian Rhapsody The Favourite Green Book Roma A Star Is Born Vice Best Actress Yalitza Aparicio, Roma Glenn Close, The Wife Olivia Colman, The Favourite Lady Gaga, A Star Is Born Melissa McCarthy, Can You Ever Forgive Me? Versace Family Slams ‘American Crime Story’ in Second Statement

The Versace family has issued a second statement in response to the upcoming season of The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. The family first issued a statement earlier in the week, breaking their silence on the portrayal of Gianni Versace‘s murder. FX responded with their own statement. “As we have said, the Versace [...] The Versace family has issued a second statement in response to the upcoming season of The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. The family first issued a statement earlier in the week, breaking their silence on the portrayal of Gianni Versace‘s murder. FX responded with their own statement. “As we have said, the Versace family has neither authorized nor had any involvement whatsoever in the forthcoming TV series about the death of Mr. Gianni Versace, which should only be considered as a work of fiction. The company producing the series claims it is relying on a book by Maureen Orth, but the Orth book itself is full of gossip and speculation. Orth never received any information from the Versace family and she has no basis to make claims about the intimate personal life of Gianni Versace or other family members. Instead, in her effort to create a sensational story, she presents second-hand hearsay that is full of contradictions,” the statement, provided to Just Jared, began. “As just one example, Orth makes assertions about Gianni Versace’s medical condition based on a person who claims he reviewed a post-mortem test result, but she admits it would have been illegal for the person to have reviewed the report in the first place (if it existed at all). In making her lurid claims, she ignores contrary information provided by members of Mr. Versace’s family, who lived and worked closely with him and were in the best position to know the facts of his life.” “Gianni Versace was a brave and honest man, who engaged in humanitarian work for the benefit of others. Of all the possible portrayals of his life and legacy, it is sad and reprehensible that the producers have chosen to present the distorted and bogus version created by Maureen Orth. The Versace family will issue no further comment on the matter,” the statement concluded. Versace – starring Edgar Ramirez, Penelope Cruz, Darren Criss, and Ricky Martin – premieres on FX on January 17......»»
