Whitney Houston"s Mom Cissy Breaks Her Silence Over Sexual Abuse Allegation

The documentary debuted at the Cannes Film Festival, and made the allegation that Whitney was molested by her cousin, Dee Dee Warwick, when she was a child. Whitney‘s brother Gary also made an allegation in the documentary that he was molested by Dee Dee, who died in 2008. The Whitney documentary is now available to see in theaters now. Click inside to read the joint statement made by Cissy Houston and Dionne Warwick… “In the documentary, which premiered almost two months ago at the Cannes Film Festival, a claim is made that Whitney was molested by Dee Dee Warwick, her cousin and Dionne‘s sister. My niece Dionne Warwick and I make this statement to raise our voices above the din surrounding the release of the film, Whitney. Although the film is marketed as a Houston Family approved/endorsed project, neither my son, Michael, Dionne nor I knew of the allegations of abuse, the direction the film would take, until two days before the screening at Cannes. We cannot, however, overstate the shock and horror we feel and the difficulty we have believing that my niece Dee Dee Warwick (Dionne’s sister) molested two of my three children. I’ve been told—as justification for the invasive theme of this film—that Whitney was a public person and therefore the public has a right to know any and everything about her. I say, NO, she was a famous person … a singer, an actress, a quiet but generous philanthropist. She wasn’t running for office, asking for money or trying to win the right to run anyone’s life. Her job does not entitle the “public” to know every intimate detail of her life beyond what she herself revealed during her lifetime. Although she spoke about her struggle with drugs, the interventions, her daughter Krissi and issues in her marriage, she never PUBLICLY spoke about her father’s stealing from her or revealed any claim that she had been molested. IF she was molested I do not believe she would have wanted it to be revealed for the first time to thousands, maybe millions of people in a film. How I wish I could ask Dee Dee and Nippy what happened, but this film distinguishes itself from the other films about her by spreading rumor, innuendo and hearsay; leaving questions to which I’ll never have the answers.” For the full statement, head over to People......»»

Whitney Houston"s Mother Reacts To Allegation That Late Singer Was Molested By Dee Dee Warwick

This is a horrifying claim. The new Whitney Houston documentary Whitney covers a lot of ground about the legendary singer's life and death — and one thing that was a real bombshell is a new molestation allegation centered on Whitney's cousin Dee Dee Warwick. The new Whitney Houston documentary Whitney covers a lot of ground about the legendary singer's life and death -- and one thing that was a real bombshell is a new molestation allegation centered on Whitney's cousin Dee Dee Warwick. Related: Whitney Did OK At The Box Office This Week! This isn't the first time we've reported on the alleged molestation of Whitney, by Warwick, which supposedly took place when Houston was just a child. But now that the documentary has officially been released to the public, the allegations -- which originally came from Whitney's half-brother Gary Garland, who said Dee Dee molested him, as well -- are getting new life and new reaction. Well now, in a new statement put out to People on Wednesday afternoon, Whitney's mother Cissy Houston (pictured alongside her daughter, above) denies the allegations completely (below): "Dee Dee may have had her personal challenges but the idea that she would have molested my children is overwhelming and for us unfathomable. We cannot reconcile the Public's need to know about Whitney's life as justification for invasion of her privacy or the charge against Dee Dee, a charge which neither Whitney nor Dee Dee is here to deny, refute or affirm. We cannot, however, overstate the shock and horror we feel and the difficulty we have believing that my niece Dee Dee Warwick molested two of my three children." That statement was jointly released by Dionne Warwick, as well -- a famous singer in her own right, and Dee Dee's sister. Cissy's statement continued on, too, damning the filmmakers of the documentary for even taking those rumors and hearsay seriously enough in the first place (below): "While the filmmakers certainly had the legal right to make this film, I wonder at the moral right." Wow! Not messing around... What do U think, Perezcious readers?! It sounds like the family is NOT having this at all -- are they in denial, or approaching things the right way? Sound off in the comments (below)... [Images via OWN/YouTube & WENN.].....»»

Amy Adams Sucks

Everyone except the 1% of Hollywood royalty continues to get poked and prodded and grabbed. It's an uber-competitive, unregulated, cutthroat industry that requires people to relinquish their dignity in order to succeed. Getting grabbed is the least of ol' Reb's problems. Not to mention the hundreds of other people on set whose names Adams can't check during an interview in an attempt to come across as relatable. The post Amy Adams Sucks appeared first on WWTDD - What Would Tyler Durden Do?.   I recently experienced a very touching WWTDD-approved bonding moment with a coworker when he revealed that he thinks Amy Adams sucks. He had to relay his #unpopularopinion via a series of complicated codes so as to not piss off everyone around us. Because everyone loves Amy Adams. Even though she sucks so so so so hard. So hard. The hardest. After #MeToo-ing Isla Fisher’s career Adams somehow weaseled her way into the hearts of Americans one mind-numbing Oscar-bait performance after another. Now she’s one of those actresses who everyone from all walks of life reveres for reasons they’d be hard-pressed to articulate. She talks like a baby? She has the screen presence of a cup of low-fat yogurt? She’s self-righteous for no reason? No really. Tell me. Why is she so great. Put it in words. Convince me. On the new cover of The Hollywood Reporter Amy Adams looks like Lindsay Lohan’s mom auditioning for Showgirls and in the accompanying interview she proves that her grasp of the #MeThree! movement is loose at best. Adams is so 2017 in saying that every woman has been #MeToo-ed in some way – which, as I’ve now stated five-thousand times, I feel detracts from actual victims of actual abuse. And what’s so mind-boggling about her interview is that she then acknowledges that employees on the set of her latest pile of crapola are getting manhandled on the reg. And what’s even more mind-boggling is that she proclaims to have single-handedly tackled the situation and created a better work environment for everyone. She’s basically Jesus. On being a dumbass: I think most women have experienced it, even if it’s just feeling unsafe rejecting somebody. And apologizing, ‘Oh, I’m so sorry, I must have been sending you the wrong signal,’ when, really, it’s like, ‘No, I think I said I don’t want to go out with you, I don’t know how that’s the wrong signal. I think we should just be friends and I’m not sure why you’re at my doorstep,’ it’s that unsafe feeling. I can’t say all, but most women have had that moment and you question yourself. ‘Did I smile? Was I not direct enough? … There’s a reason I started playing nuns and virgins. I was like, ‘I’m not putting up with that anymore.’ And more on being a dumbass: I had this amazing stand-in, Reb … I’ve never experienced this before but, because we looked so much alike, at one point somebody grabbed me really hard and pulled me. I went, ‘What’s going on?’ And they’re like ‘(Gasp) You’re not Reb!’ I went into producer [mode] and I was like, ‘You will not handle her like that. Trust me, Adams, Reb isn’t the only one getting treated like shit on set. Everyone except the 1% of Hollywood royalty continues to get poked and prodded and grabbed. It’s an uber-competitive, unregulated, cutthroat industry that requires people to relinquish their dignity in order to succeed. Getting grabbed is the least of ol’ Reb’s problems. Not to mention the hundreds of other people on set whose names Adams can’t check during an interview in an attempt to come across as relatable. Adams’ shock over the treatment of her stand-in proves that the insulated famous multimillionaire actresses of Hollywood are now officially safe from #MeToo. Phew. Whitney Houston Was Molested By Cousin Dee Dee Warwick, According To New Documentary

Whitney Houston and her half-brother Gary were molested as children by their cousin Dee Dee Warwick, according to the new documentary Whitney. On Wednesday at the Cannes Film Festival, filmmaker Kevin Macdonald told Vanity Fair he suspected the singer had "suffered childhood sexual abuse" as he watched hundreds of hours of private footage. Related: Bobby Brown Responds To Nick Gordon's Domestic Violence Arrest He told the publication: "There was something very disturbed about her, because she was never comfortable in her own skin... She seemed kind of asexual in a strange way. She was a beautiful woman, but she was never particularly sexy. I've seen and done some filming with people who have suffered childhood sexual abuse, and there was just something about her manner that was reminiscent to me of that sort of shrinking—a lack of comfort in her own physicality that felt, maybe that is what it was." After he was told off-the-record about the abuse, Macdonald finally persuaded Houston's longtime assistant Mary Jones to come forward with her account. Jones said in her emotional interview: "[Houston] looked at me and said, 'Mary, I was molested at a young age too. But it wasn't by a man—it was a woman.'... She had tears in her eyes. She says, 'Mommy don't know the things we went through.' I said, 'Have you ever told your mother?' She says, 'No.' I said, 'Well, maybe you need to tell her.' She said, 'No, my mother would hurt somebody if I told her who it was.' She just had tears rolling down her face, and I just hugged her. I said, 'One day when you get the nerve, you need to tell your mother. It will lift the burden off you.'" However, Whitney never told mom Cissy Houston about her painful childhood trauma. Jones revealed: "I think she was ashamed... she used to say, 'I wonder if I did something to make [Dee Dee] think I wanted her.' I said, 'Stop. A predator is a predator is a predator.' If Cissy had known, she would have done something about it, because Cissy loves her children.'" According to Macdonald, Cissy has been informed about the accusation and was "very upset." He added: "I think she will watch the film at some stage, but it's obviously up to her when she wants to do that." When discussing his addiction issues, fellow alleged victim Gary told the filmmaker: "Being a child—being seven, eight, nine years old—and being molested by a female family member of mine. My mother and father were gone a lot, so we stayed with a lot of different people... four, five different families who took care of us." While the film was initially going to emphasize Houston's alleged relationship with longtime best friend and employee Robyn Crawford, Macdonald ultimately decided against it. "I initially thought the story was maybe about her sexuality—that she was somebody who was not able to be gay [publicly]... I realized that actually is not the story... [Houston] only had, as far as I'm aware, one proper homosexual relationship, with Robyn Crawford, which people know about. I think that only lasted quite a short time. I found some documentation that proves, without a doubt, that it was a romantic relationship between them... The real story, as I dug deeper, had to do with her family, and to do with race, I suppose, and her childhood." Additionally, Crawford declined to participate in the film. Whitney passed away on February 11, 2012, while Dee Dee died on October 18, 2008. [Image via WENN.].....»»

25 Years Later, We’ll Always Love Whitney Houston In ‘The Bodyguard’

During the 1980s, Whitney Houston became one of the biggest names in pop music. And after Madonna parlayed her musical success into a Hollywood career, it seemed only natural for the photogenic, personable Houston to follow suit. It was 25 years ago this month that her acting debut, The Bodyguard, hit the big screen. She played Rachel Marron, a singing superstar who’s being hunted by a ruthless killer. (Hence, the need for Kevin Costner’s title character.) At the time, Houston was being offered a lot of different roles, but she told us why this was the one she decided to take. (Click on the media bar below to hear Whitney Houston) The movie was a hit, grossing more than $400 million worldwide, and also spawned one of the most successful soundtrack albums in history: It sold more than 10 million copies, and its first single, I Will Always Love You, topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a record-setting 14 weeks. But all of that almost never happened. Although Houston loved the part, she had some serious doubts about whether she could handle a role like that in her first movie. She told us it was her co-star, Kevin Costner, who really convinced her to go for it. (Click on the media bar below to hear Whitney Houston) While the movie didn’t get much love from the critics — it was nominated for seven Golden Raspberry awards — it remains a fun film to watch, with an added poignancy now that Houston is no longer with us.
