WTF?! Steve Scalise Says Las Vegas & His Own Shooting "Fortified" His Position That More Guns = More Safety!

While regular people and country musicians are looking at the 59 dead and 527 wounded in the Las Vegas shooting and changing their minds about sensible gun control, a surprise voice is standing firm. Representative Steve Scalise, who was shot last June when a deranged Bernie Sanders-supporting gun owner opened fire on a GOP baseball practice, says Vegas and his own experiences did not dissuade him from his view that we'd be safer with more guns. Video: Rep. Scalise Receives Standing Ovation Returning To House Floor In an interview on Fox News Tuesday night, the House Majority Whip says these tragic events "fortified" his position. WHAT? Rather than explain that position, he immediately gets off track, talking about why no one should be talking about gun control: "First of all you've gotta recognize that when there is a tragedy like this, the first thing we should be thinking about is praying for the people who were injured and do whatever we can to help them, to hep law enforcement." Um, isn't that what stricter, more sensible gun regulations would do? Help law enforcement? Maybe Steve has never heard the adage, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." He continues: "We shouldn't first be promoting our political agenda." This isn't some political agenda. It isn't a game. We don't have an irrational dislike of guns and lie in wait to to take advantage of mass shootings as an excuse. When we have to see a tragedy like this, we recognize some ways in which we can make it more difficult for the NEXT one. We aren't making it political, we just want to see fewer lives in danger. Photos: Here Are All The Las Vegas Shooting Victims Identified So Far Scalise then jumped to the argument that more guns are actually safer, like when he was shot (totally disregarding the fact the people with their own guns at his shooting were Capitol Police, not random civilians). He concludes: "People use guns WAY MORE to defend themselves from criminals than criminals using guns to hurt people." ... We honestly don't know if he's lying or if he actually believes that nonsensical statement. But here are some numbers for Steve, of 2012, a year recently studied by the Violence Policy Center. In that year, the total number of gun deaths ruled as justifiable homicides, in which a gun owner shot a criminal in self defense, was 259. The number of criminal homicides using a gun? 8,342. We aren't great at math, but we do know for certain that 259 is not WAY MORE than 8,342. In fact, we have a calculator on our phone that tells us it's about 3%. Related: Chelsea Handler Has A Scathing Message For Congress What one could say is that WAY MORE gun owners and their loved ones are killed by their guns accidentally than use guns to defend themselves. According to the FBI, in 2012, there were 548 fatal unintentional shootings. That's over twice the number of self defense shootings. We can't believe he didn't do any of this research. It's almost like he had the conclusion in mind first then just said things to justify it. Watch him just say things to justify it (below): .@SteveScalise on Second Amendment: "When there was a shooter, luckily we had Capitol Police there with their own guns." #TheStory pic.twitter.com/Ve3H3hb9k7 — Fox News (@FoxNews) October 3, 2017 [Image via FoxNews/Twitter.].....»»

Donald Trump Says Stricter Gun Laws Would Have Left "Hundreds More Dead" In Texas & Uses That False Chicago Argument Once Again

Donald Trump's response when pressed about "extreme vetting" for gun buyers is filled with so many inaccuracies, it's hard to know where to begin. During a press conference in Seoul, South Korea on Tuesday, an NBC journalist inquired whether POTUS would consider stricter rules for purchasing guns in the wake of all of the mass shootings -- something he's done with things like immigration. Trump responded with a smart ass remark about it being too soon to discuss policy before making a "good guy with a gun" argument. He went on to say tougher regulations would not have stopped the mass shooting in Texas -- which is just insane. Related: Trump Says Texas Church Shooting 'Isn't A Guns Situation' He said: "You're bringing up a situation that probably shouldn't be discussed too much right now. We could let a little time go by. It's OK if you feel that's an appropriate question even though we're in the heart of South Korea. I will certainly answer your question. If you did what you're suggesting, there would have been no difference three days ago, and you might not have had that very brave person who happened to have a gun or a rifle in his truck go out and shoot him, and hit him and neutralize him. I can only say this: If he didn't have a gun, instead of having 26 dead, you would have had hundreds more dead. So that's the way I feel about it. Not going to help." Trump then used Chicago as example of a city with "the strongest gun laws in our nation" -- but called the Illinois hub a "disaster": "Look at the city with the strongest gun laws in our nation — Chicago. Chicago is a disaster, a total disaster. If this man did not have a gun or rifle it would have been a much worse situation in the great state of Texas." Not only do other cities like New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco have stricter gun laws on the books -- but Chicago has even been criticized by The Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence for not requiring registration of firearms, for not limiting the purchase of multiple firearms, and for not allowing local jurisdictions to regulate firearms. So, there's clearly a lot of work to be done. In fact, Illinois as a state is ranked EIGHTH on the "Smart Gun Laws" report card. At this point, I actually demand a reason as to why people believe that assault rifles should be sold in Walmart. Why do you need an assault rifle? Arming teachers? Teachers are not security guards. Teachers are not bodyguards. They are f**king teachers. They’re there to educate. F**k you. Kids are being killed. With 18 school shootings in 2018 it’s about time the government comes for your guns. Except there hasn’t been 18 school shootings in 2018 like so many struggling news outlets would like to lead you to believe. But don’t tell that to Kim Kardashian because now the same woman who is farming fat from her chubby hubby to relocate to her ass wants to talk gun control. She’s taken a brief break from stripping on the internet for attention in an attempt to have a serious conversation that will get her even more attention. It may sound strange but even in this detached selfish society people still care about the safety of children over a pair of tits. Kim figured this out and now she is doing her best to sound caring and cash in. Kardashian slammed Congress about it failed to pass meaningful legislation. “Nothing has changed!!!! People continue to senselessly die. When will these gun laws be changed?!?!?!?!!!!?????” she asked on Twitter at the time, adding: “The fact that anyone can so easily access guns is so scary & after all of the devastating loss the Senate should have not failed us!!!” Anything involving school children and guns are scary but the same people who deny facts when it comes to firearms are equally as scary. Criminals don’t obey laws. Using a school shooting as a debate point to push your personal political perspective just seems disrespectful to the 17 people who died. They’re actual people and not some statistic for an argument. A YouTuber using their real name with “I want to be a professional school shooter” comment is pretty damning. The FBI dropped the ball here and claims their budget wasn’t big enough to investigate. But a lot of authoritative figures have the “it’s just a job” mentality. That same mentality that almost never catches a school shooter beforehand but will fine almost an entire town over an ordinance stating that the length of their grass is too long. Priorities. And Kim is currently tweeting about make-up and beauty tips so her outrage didn’t last very long. We owe it to our children and our teachers to keep them safe while at school. Prayers won’t do this: action will. As we're sure you heard, a 26-year-old gunman killed at least 26 people and wounded about 20 others inside the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas on Sunday. In response, POTUS told reporters the shooting "isn't a guns situation," but rather a "mental health problem." How about: it's both. We should care about mental health AND gun control -- and why in the world someone with mental health issues can have access to an assault rifle in the first place. Related: Trump Is The First Result When You Search For 'Hitler' On Twitter At the press briefing, Trump said "mental health is your problem here," calling the shooter a "very deranged individual" with "a lot of problems over a long period of time." He went on to say that it's "a little too soon" to get into gun control policy. He said the same thing after the Las Vegas shooting and has yet to do anything about that attack either. Essentially a bump stock is a rifle modification that makes a semi-automatic weapon fire with the speed of a fully automatic weapon. It's what the Las Vegas shooter used to kill 59 people and injure hundreds more attending the Route 91 Harvest Festival on Sunday. Related: Just FYI, It's Illegal To Carry A Toy Gun On Las Vegas Strip This gun modification is at the moment completely legal, or as Slide Fire, the company that originated the design, puts it, bump stocks are "controllable, safe, and ATF approved!" Well, that may not be true much longer. The NRA, possibly in an effort to pass the blame from guns in general to this one specific technology, has come out with a rare statement in favor or MORE gun control, writing: "The NRA believes that devices designed to allow semi-automatic rifles to function like fully-automatic rifles should be subject to additional regulations." We have to note they also took the opportunity to give a very shady "Thanks, Obama" for old times' sake, writing: "In Las Vegas, reports indicate that certain devices were used to modify the firearms involved. Despite the fact that the Obama administration approved the sale of bump fire stocks on at least two occasions, the National Rifle Association is calling on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) to immediately review whether these devices comply with federal law." Right. You know how those liberals hate gun safety regulations. Never mind that the NRA was paying off politicians all those years too... Related: This Country Musician Survived And It Completely Changed His Stance On Gun Control However they want to play it politically, it's actually an important point. These modifications did make the weapons used in Las Vegas that much more dangerous. Well, now The Blast noticed that Slide Fire has actually suspended their sales! In a message on their website, they inform consumers that they have decided to "temporarily suspend taking new orders." They may say it's to "provide the best service" for existing orders, but we highly doubt the timing is a coincidence. Maybe they were overloaded with orders by gun enthusiasts who heard about their use in the Vegas attack and decided they needed to have that on their guns. Maybe they were told to hold off until the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms has given their product another look. Maybe they saw what their product was being used for and grew a conscience? We'll have to wait and see. [Image via Twitter/Slide Fire.].....»»

Actual GOP Candidate Calls Parkland Shooting Survivor A "Skinhead Lesbian" In Series Of Deleted Tweets!

You probably already know Emma González. She's one of the survivors of last month's shooting in Parkland, Florida. She's one of the survivors of last month's shooting in Parkland, Florida. One of the teens who have bravely walked onto the national stage refusing to let the gun debate die as it always does. Using her knack for leadership honed as the President of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School's Gay-Straight Alliance, she has helped turn the fed up masses into a real movement. Video: Watch Trump Tell Survivors He Is 'Very Strongly' Considering Arming Teachers A name you probably don't know is Leslie Gibson, an NRA member and GOP candidate running unopposed for Maine's 57th District, who decided to insult her on Twitter, writing: "There is nothing about this skin head lesbian that impresses me and there is nothing that she has to say unless you're a frothing at the mouth moonbat." He also said she wasn't a shooting survivor because she was in a "different part of the school" and called her friend and fellow activist David Hogg a "bald faced liar." The tweets have since been deleted, but of course it's the Internet where nothing is ever really gone. See the receipts (below)! You said it was @gibson_house that said that? Like, LESLIE GIBSON, the Tresurer of @AndroGOP? The guy running for District 57 State House seat? He called @Emma4Change what??? A "skin head lesbian"? #ParklandShooting#mepolitics pic.twitter.com/0q0YEZMCvL — Darth Mueller (@TrumanChapman27) March 12, 2018 Since Gibson's... let's be nice and call it a lack of civility was revealed, he has since deleted his personal account and made his campaign account, @gibson_house, private. That's the kind of courage of convictions people want in their lawmakers. BTW, we're sure Emma is too busy organizing the March For Our Lives on March 24 to even pay attention to this kind of ridiculousness. She did retweet: Looks like she's taking the high road. Unlike Emma, we're going to call Gibson out for the dull-witted, immature tool he is. Related: Trump Thinks Movies Are Too Violent, Suggests Some Kind of 'Ratings System' Trying to contain a PR disaster, Gibson later apologized to Emma, tweeting: "I would like to extend to you my most sincere apology for how I addressed you. It was wrong and unacceptable. You are doing work that is important to you. I would like to extend my hand in friendship and understanding to you." According to the Portland Press Herald, however, he defended his speech by saying he swore to "uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States": "Because of this, I am very passionate about protecting our constitutional rights from those who seek their elimination. It was not appropriate to single out the Parkland students, but I stand firm in my defense of our constitutional rights. Maybe if he had taken the time to actually listen to the words of any of these students, they're not even trying to eliminate the Second Amendment -- they just want common sense safety regulations like the banning of military weapons, universal background checks, and the closing of loopholes. Guess actually discussing the points and not making ad hominem attacks against teachers is for "frothing at the mouth moonbats." Or whatever. BTW, in response to this behavior, local Democratic organizer Pat Fogg said she hopes someone will run against Gibson: "I wish I knew someone who could get into this race. That sort of stupidity really turns people off." For real. We're sure plenty of Emma's fellow Parks And Recreation fans in Maine would love to vote LESLIE NOPE. [Image via CNN/Twitter.].....»»

Florida School Shooting Survivor Challenges Trump To Face-To-Face Conversation About Gun Control!

Something is different after this school shooting — have you noticed? Florida high school students who went through the tragedy of 17 of their classmates and teachers being killed in a shooting on Valentine's Day are speaking up -- and speaking loudly. Through television interviews and social media, the teens of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School are calling out the inaction of the country's gun-loving leaders. Related: Shooter Possibly Linked To White Supremacist Group Oh, and Donald Trump, whose campaign benefited from the NRA to the tune of about $31 million btw. None did so with as much pure, angry appeal as Sarah Chadwick, who went viral for tweeting directly at the POTUS: My prayers and condolences to the families of the victims of the terrible Florida shooting. No child, teacher or anyone else should ever feel unsafe in an American school. — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 14, 2018 Sarah wrote: "I don't want your condolences you fucking price of shit, my friends and teachers were shot. Multiple of my fellow classmates are dead. Do something instead of sending prayers. Prayers won't fix this. But Gun control will prevent it from happening again." She later deleted the tweet, apologizing for her language but not her sentiment. Now she's calling out the Commander-In-Chief to speak with her in person on the subject: Dear Donald Trump, I’m the 16 year old girl who tweeted you and told you i didn’t want your condolences, I wanted gun control, and went viral because of it. I heard you’re coming to my community soon and I would like to express my opinions on gun control to you face to face. — sarah // #NEVERAGAIN (@sarahchad_) February 16, 2018 Will Trump accept the challenge?? "King Of Instagram" Douche Dan Bilzerian Ran, Filmed Himself, & Pestered Cops For A Gun During Las Vegas Shooting

If you're not familiar with Instagram star Dan Bilzerian, frankly you're probably better off. The self-proclaimed King Of Instagram is a rich d-bag who posts primarily about his leisurely party lifestyle jetting around tropical islands surrounded by women in bikinis. Basically, he feeds off envy. Think Scott Disick without the charm. He's also a gun nut who [...] If you're not familiar with Instagram star Dan Bilzerian, frankly you're probably better off. The self-proclaimed King Of Instagram is a rich d-bag who posts primarily about his leisurely party lifestyle jetting around tropical islands surrounded by women in bikinis. Basically, he feeds off envy. Think Scott Disick without the charm. He's also a gun nut who often posts pics of his insane collection (above) and brags about what he would do if someone broke into his home. Related: He Was Also Sued For Kicking A Woman In The Face Well, apparently he was present during the Las Vegas shooting -- and the videos he posted of his experience paint a different picture of his fight or flight response. While other concertgoers were helping strangers to safety, making tourniquets, shielding their loved ones, Bilzerian just ran. Well, he didn't JUST run. That part is understandable. It was chaos. But the reason we know he ran instead of helping anyone else is because his hands were full. Of his phone. While he filmed himself for clicks on Instagram Story. He begins his video with him telling his 23 million followers: "Holy fuck this girl just got shot in the fucking head!" He then picks up the vid again in his car, saying: "Stupid ass me didn't bring a gun." FUCK stay out of Las Vegas! #activeshooter pic.twitter.com/CrfyiDVx4W — Dan BiIzerian (@iDanBilzerian) October 2, 2017 Bilzerian was mocked for his cowardice online, by both social media users and think pieces in the Washington Post. Related: This Is Also The Guy Who Threw A Porn Star Off A Roof Even Marine vet and Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer had something to say, posting on IG: "This is why children shouldn't classify heroes by their followers or their photos. @danbilzerian, this is what kills me about people like you. Always playing 'operator dress up' and so so tough when the cameras are on. A woman just got shot in the head and you are running away filming; that's not what operators do. Please stop trying to be someone your not. People are dying, you're running away not helping them and pretending it's worthy of a video is disgusting." In response, Bilzerian called Meyer a "retard," posting: "So I wake up this morning and the news is talking shit saying some Marine was saying that I was a pussy for running away and that I should have stood my ground when the guy was shooting at me with a machine gun. So, I mean if we follow that retard's logic we'd probably have 600 dead if everyone stood their ground instead of running for cover." We doubt Meyer meant to just stand there; plenty of people helped their fellow citizens without taking the time to post to the 'gram. Related: Here's Just One Story Of Someone Who Saved Lives The backlash from all over pushed Bilzerian's pal to post a previously unseen moment from that night -- the social media star finding cover then when some cops run up asking one for a gun. When he tries dropping his creds, the cop, who is a little busy at the moment, says: "No, get the fuck away from me right now! I don't care! I don't know who you are!" Watch that moment (below): Dakota Meyer cue @danbilzerian running towards the hotel and shooter. Asking a cop for his pistol and being rejected which is understandable. That was funny af. Ask yourself does this look like the actions of a coward or a man trying to help? Calling him a coward was maybe premature and harsh. Dans methods won’t be in police training manuals either. Certainly creating conversation. Wouldn’t it be better served to bash the shooter? #f1firearmsA post shared by F-1 FIREARMS (@f1firearms) on Oct 4, 2017 at 8:32pm PDT This is Bilzerian's evidence that he was being a hero. Bothering police. We guess he's going to say if he'd actually had a gun that night he would have been able to take out the shooter. He told People: "It was a pretty strong wake up call. This stuff can happen without warning anywhere. It's not smart to get caught without a gun." Even after all this, he still believes he could have helped with ANOTHER gun, and that he would have been able to return fire without causing more loss of innocent life -- and wouldn't have been mistaken for the damn shooter himself. And some of his followers do, too. They're calling him a hero. Seriously. Related: Country Musician Who Survived Has A Different Opinion Bilzerian drew even more controversy after posting a photo apparently of the dead shooter Stephen Paddock, a closeup of his bloody head after a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The photo has not been confirmed, but the floor does match what we've seen in other pics of the suite. We won't show the pic on this site, but you can find it still live on Bilzerian's Twitter feed HERE. We do not recommend looking. At anything he posts really. What do YOU think of this "hero"? No one even kept track as the shooter bought 33 guns in the last year alone because there's no system in place to regulate the purchases. But just in case you weren't yet convinced the gun laws in our country are insane, this may be the most ridiculous thing we've ever heard. Related: Country Musician Who Survived The Shooting Completely Changed His Stance On Gun Control We just found out that thanks to a 2012 city ordinance, it's illegal to carry toy guns on the Vegas strip -- because they're on a list of "dangerous objects" which also includes fireworks and skateboards. Meanwhile in Nevada you can purchase a real gun without a permit, carry it around with you, and never register it. Maybe NERF should start buying off politicians like the NRA does... Video: Medium Tyler Henry Helps Chad Michael Murray! In response, the 36-year-old actor is calling the claims "ludicrous" as he would never marry for anything but love!! In a statement to People, the House Of Wax star clapped back via his rep: "The story is ludicrous. Chad conducts himself in a completely professional manner and would never marry for any reason but love. Thirteen years since his divorce from Sophia, he has a very happy family life with his wife and children. He has completely moved on and doesn't feel the need to engage in this type of behavior."
