The 44-year-old actress posted her story on Instagram, along with a photo of her as a teen. Kate described that Harvey met her at his hotel room in London when she was 17. He was in his bathrobe, and she left “uneasy but unscathed.” “A few years later he asked me if he had tried anything with me in that first meeting. I realized he couldn’t remember if he had assaulted me or not. I had what I thought were boundaries – I said no to him professionally many times over the years-some of which ended up with him screaming at me calling me a cunt and making threats, some of which made him laughingly tell people oh ‘Kate lives to say no to me.’ It speaks to the status quo in this business that I was aware that standing up for myself and saying no to things, while it did allow me to feel uncompromised in myself, undoubtedly harmed my career and was never something I felt supported by anyone other than my family,” Kate described. Click inside to read Kate’s full statement… Kate Beckinsale’s Full Statement on Harvey Weinstein I was called to meet Harvey Weinstein at the Savoy Hotel when I was 17. I assumed it would be in a conference room which was very common. When I arrived, reception told me to go to his room . He opened the door in his bathrobe. I was incredibly naive and young and it did not cross my mind that this older ,unattractive man would expect me to have any sexual interest in him. After declining alcohol and announcing that I had school in the morning I left, uneasy but unscathed. A few years later he asked me if he had tried anything with me in that first meeting. I realized he couldn’t remember if he had assaulted me or not. I had what I thought were boundaries – I said no to him professionally many times over the years-some of which ended up with him screaming at me calling me a cunt and making threats, some of which made him laughingly tell people oh ‘Kate lives to say no to me.’ It speaks to the status quo in this business that I was aware that standing up for myself and saying no to things, while it did allow me to feel uncompromised in myself, undoubtedly harmed my career and was never something I felt supported by anyone other than my family. I would like to applaud the women who have come forward, and to pledge that we can from this create a new paradigm where producers, managers, executives and assistants and everyone who has in the past shrugged and said ‘well, that’s just Harvey /Mr X/insert name here’ will realize that we in numbers can affect real change. For every moment like this there have been thousands where a vulnerable person has confided outrageous unprofessional behavior and found they have no recourse, due to an atmosphere of fear that it seems almost everyone has been living in. I had a male friend who, based on my experience, warned a young actress who said she was going to dinner with Harvey to be careful. He received a phone call the next day saying he would never work in another Miramax film; the girl was already sleeping with Harvey and had told him that my friend had warned her off.Let’s stop allowing our young women to be sexual cannon fodder, and let’s remember that Harvey is an emblem of a system that is sick, and that we have work to do......»»

Here"s Why Kate Winslet Straight Up Refused To Thank Harvey Weinstein In Her Oscar Speech — Even After Being Ordered To Do So!

Kate Winslet refused to be bullied by Harvey Weinstein — especially when it came to her Oscar speech. For a candid chat with the Los Angeles Times, Miz Winslet revealed that she purposefully neglected to name the Hollywood heavyweight during her 2009 acceptance speech at the Academy Awards. Oh snap! Related: Emma Thompson Slams "Predator" Weinstein In case you forgot, the industry vet nabbed her first Oscar for her work in The Reader after being nominated five times prior. So it wasn't surprising when the Titanic actress praised 19 people who helped her achieve the career milestone. However, Weinstein was notably absent from her address -- and that was totally on purpose. The A-lister explained: "That was deliberate. That was absolutely deliberate... I remember being told. 'Make sure you thank Harvey if you win.' And I remember turning around and saying, 'No I won't. No I won't.' And it was nothing to do with not being grateful. If people aren't well-behaved, why would I thank him?" Way to stand your ground, girl! We mean, this was a pretty bold move as Harvey has credited himself as the reason Kate got her Oscar. Thus, it makes sense that Winslet is thrilled by Harvey's ousting. She continued: "The fact that I'm never going to have to deal with Harvey Weinstein again as long as I live is one of the best things that's ever happened and I'm sure the feeling is universal." Although Kate was never sexually harassed by the industry titan, he was quite the bully anytime the interacted. The celebrated actress recalled: "For my whole career, Harvey Weinstein, whenever I've bumped into him, he'd grab my arm and say, "Don't forget who gave you your first movie." Like I owe him everything... Then later, with The Reader, same thing, 'I'm gonna get you that Oscar nomination, I'm gonna get you a win, I'm gonna win for you.' ... But that's how he operated. He was bullying and nasty. Going on a business level, he was always very, very hard to deal with — he was rude." How awful. Not to mention, in addition to regularly calling her female agent a derogatory name, Weinstein also displayed "disgraceful behavior" during the making of The Reader. Unfortunately, the 42-year-old wasn't willing to get specific as she wasn't ready to publicly discuss that "can of worms." Unsurprisingly, The Reader was the last time Kate worked with Harvey. She added: "Damn right. I ... stand up for myself and I don't pander to what you're supposed to do and what you're not supposed to do. I won't be pushed around or bullied by anyone. I was bullied as a child. Never again. Certainly not by Harvey Weinstein." PREACH IT. As for the producer's swift fall from grace, Winslet relayed: "This is disgraceful, despicable behavior. This kind of treatment of any workplace is utterly unacceptable. And hopefully what will happen is that more women will feel compelled to come forward — these women are victims of crime by a man who was always impossible to deal with... I hope that Harvey Weinstein absolutely is punished within the fullest extent of the law should that be the case." Couldn't agree more with Kate. We commend all the women who've come forward to expose Weinstein as the predator he is. [Image via WENN/YouTube.].....»»

Model Zoe Brock Details Being "Harveyed" By Harvey Weinstein — Read Her Upsetting Account HERE

Following the explosive New York Times exposé which detailed the indie movie mogul's decades of sexual harassment, several women have come forward to discuss their unsavory experiences with Weinstein. One of the latest people to speak out is model Zoe Brock. Related: Nelly Responds To Sexual Assault Arrest It's been 20 years since Miz Brock's encounter with Harvey, but she clearly remembers how he allegedly lured her back to his hotel room and begged for a massage. Now, if you read the Times coverage, you know that was Weinstein's total M.O. Per Zoe's Medium post, she was only 23 years old when she was "Harveyed." Apparently, the New Zealand-born beauty met Weinstein in 1997 while they were both at the Cannes Film Festival. She revealed: "I met Harvey Weinstein in Cannes at the Film Festival. We were seated next to each other at a fancy dinner. I didn't catch his name and assumed I was talking to another hungry producer trying to sell a little movie to the big wigs. Feeling sorry for him, I went out of my way to be entertaining and nice. It wasn't until later in the meal that I asked the name of his production company." After learning that they had a mutual friend in common, the two industry professionals spent some time together at the film festival. Zoe continued: "With a dear mutual friend in common I felt safe with Harvey. The night was young and so was I. After dinner our large group, which included my Italian modeling agent, a few rich douchebags, some decorative models, and Harvey's entourage, rolled out into the Cannes night. Black town cars and gleaming limos took us to various parties where we glittered and shone like everyone else. Harvey and his assistant, Ben Silverman, never left my side." While the conversation between Zoe and Harvey could've been misconstrued as flirtatious, Brock insists that she only felt "platonic energy" for him. Which makes it so much more troubling that Weinstein and his assistant seemingly manipulated it so that she was separated from her friends: "My group was ushered into one car and I was somehow separated from them and told to get into another car with Harvey and his two friends. Stupidly, I obliged. I was told we were all going to the same place. To this day I do not know if my Italian agent was in on the ruse. My instincts tell me he was." How awful. Things only got worse for Zoe as she relayed: "The energy shifted and I became very uncomfortable... And suddenly I was alone in a remote hotel suite with Harvey fucking Weinstein. My body went into high alert. I was drunk, young, miles from home, without cash to get a cab, and no cell phone... It was time to sober up, and fast." To make matters worse, Harvey moved quickly to proposition Zoe as he was naked and asking for massage almost as soon as they were alone. The model added: "Harvey left the room, but not for long. He re-emerged naked a couple of minutes later and asked if I would give him a massage. Panicking, in shock, I remember weighing up the options and wondering how much I needed to placate him to keep myself safe. He asked if I would like a massage instead, and for a second I thought this might be a way to give him an inch without him taking a mile. I told him I was uncomfortable and that I was angry that I had been tricked into this position. He pleaded with me to let him massage me and I let him put his hands on my shoulders while my mind raced." In an attempt to escape the filmmaker, Zoe locked herself in the bathroom as Harvey pleaded with her to come out. After reprimanding Harvey through a locked door, Brock eventually emerged and found Weinstein whimpering on the bed: "Harvey, contrite, promised to cover himself and leave me alone. I came out of the bathroom and found him sitting on his bed, wearing a bathrobe, crying. 'You don't like me because I'm fat.' He whimpered." Tsk, tsk. Supposedly, the assistant tried to apologize as Zoe has claimed he told her: "'I'm so sorry,' he said. 'I want you to know that of all the girls he does this to you are the one I really felt bad about. You deserve better.'" Ben Silverman, if you're reading this, SHAME ON YOU. Smh. According to Zoe, Weinstein let her stay at his suite at the Majestic Hotel. However, after a friend warned her that Harvey would be back in the morning, the brunette fled the hotel room at 6 a.m. In an attempt to downplay the scandalous nature of their encounter, Harvey sent Zoe red roses and booked a private movie screening for her at the festival. Both presents were unwanted. Be sure to read Zoe's full account for yourself HERE. [Image via Facebook/WENN.].....»»

In an interview with CNN's Christiane Amanpour, the Grace & Frankie actress admitted that she's known about Harvey Weinstein's sexual misconduct for about a year. A year?? *GASP* Related: The Weinstein Co. Totally Knew About Harvey's Settlements With Victims! Apparently, sometime last year, Weinstein victim Rosanna Arquette confided in Miz Fonda about the sexual harassment she suffered through thanks to Harvey. The 79-year-old shared: "I found out about [Harvey Weinstein] about a year ago. And I'm ashamed that I didn't say anything right then." Fair point. She continued: "It came as a shock and a great disappointment... I only met Harvey when I was old and Harvey goes for young because that's more vulnerable." After bringing up Bill Cosby, Jane added: "I'm glad it's coming out, I'm so proud of those fellow actors that are speaking up. I know that it has taken a long time. It is a very, very, very hard thing to do... You don't get anything out of it as the person who has been victimized but it is important that it come out. Let's not think that this is some unique, horrific... this goes on all the time, this male entitlement in Hollywood and everywhere - in offices and businesses all over the world, in bars, in restaurants, in stores women are assaulted, abused, harassed." In addition to the 30+ women who've accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct, several male actors -- including James Van Der Beek, Terry Crews, and Rob Schneider -- have revealed that they've been harassed by heavyweights in Hollywood too. It's just so awful. Be sure to catch Jane's FULL sit down with Amanpour when it airs on Friday. [Image via KIKA/WENN.].....»»

On Thursday, actress Claire Forlani took to Twitter to reveal that she escaped sexual harassment from Weinstein on FIVE different occasions. How awful!!! Related: The Weinstein Co. Totally Knew About Harvey's Settlements With Victims! The 45-year-old, who appeared in the Miramax-distributed Boys and Girls, shared with her followers: "You see, nothing happened to me with Harvey — by that I mean, I escaped 5 times... I had two Peninsula Hotel meetings in the evening with Harvey and all I remember was I ducked, dived and ultimately got out of there without getting slobbered over, well just a bit. Yes, massage was suggested. The three dinners with Harvey I don't really remember the time period, I was 25. I remember him telling me all the actresses who had slept with him and what he had done for them. I wasn't drinking the cool aid [sic], I knew Harvey was a master manipulator. He also announced to me at the last dinner I had with him at Dominic's that his pilot knew to be on standby because he could never get me to sleep with him, to which I did what I always did, make light of the situation, a joke here or there and moved on. You see, I always thought I was a pro at handling these guys, I'd had a fair amount of experience. Sometimes I got angry, really angry. I wondered why I had Prey stamped on my forehead but this I kept to myself." We feel just awful for Miz Forlani. Although the Meet Joe Black star wanted to speak out against Weinstein for Ronan Farrow's New Yorker piece, she ultimately decided not to comment for the story. Why?? Well, because, her friends advised her not to. The Meet Joe Black star definitely regrets not speaking with Farrow, as she continued: "[Farrow] didn't mention that it was about Harvey but when I received the email I instinctively knew it was going to be. I told some close men around me and they all advised me not to speak. I had already told Ronan I would speak with him but from the advice around me, interestingly the male advice around me, I didn't make the call. Today I sit here feeling some shame, like I'm not a woman supporting other women. I just read Mira Sorvino's article in Time and she writes of how scared she was to speak out and participate. I take little solace in that." We're just proud that Claire is speaking out now. Sadly, Forlani's experience with Weinstein isn't the only negative one she has faced in Hollywood. Per Claire's statement, she had another "disgusting" encounter with a director who harassed Thandie Newton. She added: "I remember when Thandie Newton spoke out about a director that I had also had a disgusting experience with and I felt scared even reading what she said publicly about him, thinking, ‘Damn, she's gonna get crucified for that. 'Yet I was in awe for her bravery and balls, she was a female crusader, modern suffragette and I loved her for it. But I also knew I didn't have those balls, too scared of the repercussions this was because when you did react or tell a man to shove it, there were always repercussions. I was punished when I was brave. So I learned to let it go and carry on." Don't be so hard on yourself, Claire! There's no easy way to take on a predator. Hopefully, there are enough admissions that have come out to solidify the indie movie mogul's excommunication from Hollywood. Fingers crossed. As you surely know, Harvey Weinstein has been ousted from The Weinstein Company following his sexual misconduct scandal. Not to mention, according to reports, the disgraced Hollywood heavyweight blames his brother and (now former) business partner, Bob Weinstein for allegedly leaking internal documents detailing decades of sexual harassment allegations to the New York Times. Related: Emma Thompson Slams "Predator" Weinstein While Bob hasn't confirmed this gossip, the 62-year-old has publicly denounced his brother and made it perfectly clear that he in no way condones his flesh-and-blood's behavior. Thus, a showdown is expected when the two brothers both tune in for TWC's Board of Directors meeting. Per TMZ, the Board of Directors has a meeting scheduled for Tuesday where they plan to discuss Harvey's firing. Reportedly, the scandalized industry titan will be present at the meeting via a speakerphone. In case you forgot, Harvey is currently in an Arizona based rehab facility where he is seeking treatment for sex addiction. The movie mogul's lawyer, Patty Glaser, will be in the room at the time of the meeting. It's said Glaser plans to address several points which prove that Harvey's firing violated his contract. Supposedly, TWC never gave Harvey a clear cut reason as to why he was being let go. Right, because it's ~such~ a mystery. *Eye roll* What's even crazier is that the attorney plans to argue that the elder Weinstein did nothing to violate his contract. As you may've heard, a provision was added to Harvey's contract back in 2015 which covers claims such as sexual harassment. The only requirement? Harvey was required to reimburse the company for any settlement and/or legal fees. Oh, and he'd have to pay a fine too. Related: Why Kate Winslet Refused To Thank Harvey In Oscar Speech! Since there were no claims brought against Harvey following the contract negotiation, his employment document should protect him. TWC isn't buying this defense as their code of conduct is what allowed them to let Harvey go. This contract dispute is likely to wind both Weinsteins up. It's believed that Bob, who is said to naturally be hot tempered, is livid about the drama and is expected to go off during the conference call. To make matters worse, if the company is unwilling to go through mediation and arbitration, Glaser will file a lawsuit on Harvey's behalf. An insider told the webloid: "There is so much crap that will be unearthed in a lawsuit, the company just can't survive it." Dramaaaaaa. Harvey Weinstein has apparently been claiming that Oprah Winfrey called him this week to say that she's "ready to come out and publicly support him" according to TMZ -- and yet Oprah's team is TOTALLY denying this!! Related: Harvey, Seriously, WTF Is THIS Shit?! Sources say that Harvey has been going around telling everyone who will listen that a number of powerful people -- Oprah included -- have reached out to him and encouraged the producer to defend himself publicly, apparently even going so far as to say they'd have his back. Now, in Weinstein's telling of this story, apparently he repeatedly singled out Oprah as being a supporter who kept saying this over and over again. One problems... Oprah says that's not true. Like, not even a little bit. Her team responded by indicating they were really just after Weinstein for a 60 Minutes interview (below): "Oprah has not spoken to Harvey Weinstein directly. Someone from his team reached out to her to see if she would talk to him, and she said she would if it was for an interview. There are no plans for an interview at this time ... She was only interested if he'd look in the mirror and give her the honest, bone marrow truth." Oops! Related: Harvey Responds To His Wife Leaving Him Also, it doesn't help that Oprah posted a public statement a couple days ago that was pretty much not a blanket statement supporting Harvey, and said in part (below): "I've been processing the accounts of Harvey Weinstein's behavior and haven't been able to find the words to articulate the magnitude of the situation." So where'd the wires get crossed up on this one?! Seems logical that Weinstein is begging to have SOMEBODY in his corner... but maybe don't fudge a story about getting support from Oprah?? Earlier this week, actress-turned-writer Marisa Coughlan detailed an encounter with the disgraced movie mogul where he attempted to barter a role in a film for sex. Ugh. Related: Blythe Danner Defends Daughter Gwyneth Paltrow Per Miz Coughlan's account to The Hollywood Reporter, the blonde industry vet first met Weinstein for a brief moment while at the Teaching Mrs. Tingle premiere in Westwood, CA in 1999. At this time, Marisa was also cast in a Miramax TV show, titled Wasteland. Since Weinstein had his hands in both projects, making him technically her boss, Coughlan felt compelled to say hello to him when she later ran into him at a restaurant. Apparently, Marisa boldly stopped by Harvey's table as he dined with Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and others. Coughlan remembers: "I said hello briefly and went back to my table and didn't talk to him again that night." Thus, she was very shocked when the bill came and it was revealed that Weinstein had paid for Marisa "and [her] three girlfriends." Wanting to be polite, Marisa sent a thank you note to the scandalized producer's New York office. Although Marisa thought that was the end of the story, Weinstein called her a "week or so later." Supposedly, the now 65-year-old said he was "calling a classy lady to thank her for a classy note." While Harvey offered up many compliments, he came off professional as he requested to meet with her at the Peninsula Hotel to discuss a few projects. Marisa wasn't bothered with the meet up location, as she explained: "I was informed that the meeting would be at the Peninsula, which was not abnormal at all... It's like a mini-office with assistants running around and lots of activity." However, there was something different about Weinstein's Peninsula set up. Upon arriving at Harvey's "gigantic penthouse," Marisa witnessed: "There were a few assistants there when I arrived but they literally left the suite like the place was on fire. I didn't process why until later." After discussing a few projects, including a potential lead in a Miramax movie, Harvey made an unsavory proposition to the Super Troopers actress. Marisa, who was only 25 at the time, recalls: "He told me that he has a lot of 'special friends' and they give each other massages. It was a full-court press. He wanted me to be one of his 'special friends' and go into the bedroom. I told him that I had a serious boyfriend and reminded him that he was married and that we should keep this professional. I was so blindsided. Not one ounce of me anticipated it. It was the weirdest meeting I've ever had in my life." Ew, ew, EWWWWWW! What bugged Coughlan most about the come on was how "transactional" it felt. Marisa left the meeting without incident, but Weinstein did follow up as he sent a script to her agents. He also called and offered to fly her out to New York so they could partake in "romantic" outings. Marisa reluctantly agreed to meet with Harvey one more time, but insisted they sit down in a public space. On their second meeting, Coughlan shared: "I sat down and explained that I wanted to be really clear. I told him again that I have a serious boyfriend and I was never going to do anything physical or romantic... It was super uncomfortable, remember, because I was employed by his studio at the time. He seemed so flabbergasted that I wasn't going to go there. I was shocked that he was so shocked." After the rejection, the Hollywood heavyweight asked Marisa to drive him back to the Peninsula. Once the twosome arrived at the hotel, Harvey "pushed and pushed and pushed" for Marisa to come up to his room. Coughlan turned down Weinstein's advances once again and he stormed out of her car -- only to walk back and say that he "respected her." Yeah, sure. Related: Rose McGowan Pulls Out Of Film Festival Appearance Days later, the lead role Harvey teased Marisa with was given to another actress. On whether she knew the extent of Harvey's predatory ways, Marisa noted: "What happened to me, even though it was uncomfortable, was much more of a transactional situation. He wanted to barter sex for movie roles. In other cases, he was forcing himself on them. It's so shocking that he got away with it for as long as he did. I never realized the scope of it. I felt like an island and naively didn't know how pervasive it was." Unsurprisingly, Marisa is standing by the other Harvey accusers -- which include A-listers such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Ashley Judd, and Rose McGowan. In regards to the power Weinstein once wielded in Hollywood, the Minnesota native concluded: "I can't imagine a more intimidating person to go up against. During his heyday, he was scary as hell. I saw him yell at assistants and servers, but then saw him turn on a dime and be so charming. There's definitely some Jekyll and Hyde going on there. It's taken this many to come forward to have this happen — there's definitely strength in numbers." Hear! Hear! We couldn't be more grateful that so many women are speaking up now! Another Harvey Weinstein Accuser Speaks Out — As Attorney Gloria Allred Compares The Scandalized Producer To Bill Cosby!

Another woman has come forward to accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment. Former filmmaker Louisette Geiss (above, left) claims the disgraced producer used a meeting about one of her films at the Sundance Film Festival to proposition her into watching him jerk off. Speaking from her attorney Gloria Allred's (above, right) offices on Tuesday, Geiss said in 2008, Weinstein invited her to the premiere of Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden. Related: Harvey's Scandal Has Fans Call For Boycott Of His Wife's Marchesa Line! After the screening, she agreed to meet him back at the restaurant hotel where they were both staying, but they were turned away because it was closing. Weinstein then innocently suggested they meet in his office attached to his hotel room. Fully aware of the rumors about the movie mogul, Geiss was hesitant at first, but agreed to join only as long as Weinstein promised he would not touch her. They even shook on it. At first, Geiss contends the meeting was great -- the two ended up having a "great conversation" about her movie, for which Harvey "seemed genuinely interested." But before the deal was sealed, the producer excused himself to go to the bathroom and re-emerged wearing a bathrobe -- under which, Geiss recalls he was "buck naked." Things got pretty weird from there. Geiss said Weinstein asked her to watch him masturbate and when she tried to leave, he grabbed her arm and "pleaded [she] watch him masturbate." If she agreed, Weinstein said he'd introduce her to Bob Weinstein (the nice brother you want to meet, apparently) and, according to Geiss, "green light [her] script, but [she'd] have to watch him masturbate." Related: Gwyneth Paltrow Reveals Harvey Tried To Proposition Her After that, Geiss left. Not just the hotel room, but the movie industry completely. Allred, Geiss' attorney, said she's heard from several other women who say they are victims of unwanted advances from Weinstein, and that the statute of limitations for each alleged encounter has since expired. To show some mercy, Allred is "inviting [Weinstein] to agree to engage in an arbitration of these claims with these women" with an agreed upon retired judge. The attorney says the proposal is "similar to what [she] suggested to Bill Cosby" amid his sex scandal -- but the comedian "was not wise enough" to agree to it. Allred notes that Weinstein will be smart to agree if he ever intends on returning to Hollywood one day, as an arbitration could be a "positive step he could take to restore his battered reputation." We'd say Weinstein has nothing to lose , as his scandal already looks to be turning into the full Cosby. [Image via Facebook.].....»»

Director Says He Was Kicked Off Movie After Harvey Weinstein Didn"t Find His Lead Actress "Fuckable"

"I don't cast films according to Harvey Weinstein's erection." — A quote from director Michael Caton-Jones that should have been published twenty years ago, but wasn't. According to a new interview with Buzzfeed, the Scottish filmmaker was kicked off production of B. Monkey because his pick for lead actress wasn't "fuckable," to use Weinstein's term. The role [...] "I don't cast films according to Harvey Weinstein's erection." -- A quote from director Michael Caton-Jones that should have been published twenty years ago, but wasn't. According to a new interview with Buzzfeed, the Scottish filmmaker was kicked off production of B. Monkey because his pick for lead actress wasn't "fuckable," to use Weinstein's term. The role went to Asia Argento instead of British starlet Sophie Okonedo. As we know now, Argento has accused the Hollywood honcho of raping her in 1997. Related: Molly Ringwald Describes YEARS Of Sexual Harassment Caton-Jones first worked with Weinstein 10 years prior on the 1989 film Scandal, when he noted Harvey would only show up to set for sex scenes. They crossed paths again when the Weinstein brothers were attached to the 1998 cult classic. The director said of the extensive casting process: "The basics of the deal was we were going to find an unknown and we were going to cast her as the lead in the film. There was extensive casting. We saw many, many girls, maybe 100 or so. And I ended up — I thought Sophie Okonedo would have been great for the part." "The trouble began" when Sophie and Michael met with Harvey at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills for approval: "Harvey kept saying to me, ‘Do you think she is fuckable?'... That was what the deal was all the time. I said, ‘She is the best actress for the job, Harvey.' And we started arguing about it. It was only when I said to Harvey, ‘Don't screw up the casting of this film because you want to get laid,' whereupon he went mental." When Michael returned to his room to cool off from the argument, he received a call from Variety requesting a comment for a story about him walking off set. Harvey was already covering his tracks. He recalled: "I was furious after being kicked off my film, and I told them all about what happened. I told them about the harassment claims, and I said 'Here is your quote: I don't cast films according to Harvey Weinstein's erection,' and they just laughed." When asked about why his response wasn't included in the original story, a spokesman for the outlet said they couldn't comment on editorial decisions made that long ago under different ownership: "As you know, the publication is under different ownership now, and therefore, we don't have a comment on previous editorial practices." Not long after the incident, Harvey gave Michael Radford the gig as director and cast Argento as the lead. Related: France Planning New Street Harassment Laws According to Caton-Jones' impression of Weinstein: "Sophie Okonedo was not fuckable and that was it. Find someone who is." Even though he was applauded by his close circle for how he handled Harvey's gross behavior, the director still faced repercussions: "I was the stupid one who stood up and told him to go to hell. I stood up to him and told him to go fuck himself. And I got a lot of support from a lot of people when I did that, but you know, I didn't make the film, so he won." As for those saying they were unaware of what was going on all these years, Michael said: "Anyone who didn't know, didn't want to know. It's like Germany after the Second World War — I've never seen so many people not knowing anything. I certainly knew what was going on at the time. And everyone around us pretty much all knew what the score was. You only had to spend five minutes with Harvey to get the nature of the man. He didn't particularly hide who he was." We're just sad this story wasn't told sooner. [Image via Alan West/WENN.].....»»

We already know the infamous Hollywood heavyweight is being investigated for sexual assault in the U.K. with its lack of statute of limitations. He may even have to answer for the 1997 accusations of Rose McGowan thanks to a legal loophole in Utah. But according to the latest reports, he is now being investigated in his own city. Related: All Women Who Have Accused Harvey Weinstein So Far The LAPD confirmed an Italian model-actress (who wished to remain anonymous) has officially become the sixth woman to accuse Weinstein of rape or forcible sex acts. The now-38-year-old tells the L.A. Times she met Weinstein for only the second time at the Los Angeles Italia Film, Fashion and Art Fest in February 2013. After they spoke briefly at the fest, he showed up "without warning" at her hotel lobby asking to come up. She said no, but he got her room number and came up anyway, soon bullying his way in telling her he "just wanted to talk." But he didn't: "Once inside, he asked me questions about myself but soon became very aggressive and demanding and kept asking to see me naked. He grabbed me by the hair and forced me to do something I did not want to do. He then dragged me to the bathroom and forcibly raped me." She says she tried to stop him by showing him photos of her children, but it didn't do any good. In all, she says, the encounter lasted 45 minutes: "When he left, he acted like nothing happened. I barely knew this man. It was the most demeaning thing ever done to me by far. It sickens me still. … He made me feel like an object, like nothing with all his power... All these years I've been thinking why I didn't call the police immediately. I regret that I opened the door." Today also brings yet another new accusation from Russian TV host Katya Mtsitouridze (above, right), who recounted to The Hollywood Reporter an incident with Weinstein 13 years ago: "I first met Mr. Weinstein in the Regent hotel at the Berlin film festival [in 2003], where I was doing a television interview with George Clooney for Channel One. Harvey was co-producer of Clooney's directorial debut, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. After the interview, he came up to me saying that he liked my questions and would love to have lunch in his room — that he loved Russian culture, especially Chekhov, and that his grandparents were originally from Russia — and that we could have an interesting conversation. I was surprised and told him, rather ironically, that, of course, it would be an honor, but I was afraid my boyfriend would not be happy about our cultural tete-a-tete, but if he wished to invite him, there would be no problem." Harvey didn't like that, says Katya, so instead he gave her his number and over the next few months whenever their paths wold cross at junkets, he would remind her to call him. But it was at the Venice Film Festival in 2004 that Katya says she got the full Weinstein. Related: France's Got Talent Judge Accused Of Sexual Misconduct Against NINE Women, Including A 14-Year-Old! He invited her after a screening of Finding Neverland to discuss an idea he had for modern Russian writers. Katya thought it was legit since he was a publisher as well -- but again she refused to meet with him alone in his room, instead telling him to meet her at the Excelsior hotel cafe, a public place full of industry professionals. When she got there, Harvey's assistant showed up instead saying he wasn't feeling well, so could she meet him upstairs. She was hesitant but "the assistant said that he would be joining us, so I went up." That's when the assistant "instantly disappeared," and Katya met the real Harvey: "I was frozen into immobility like a statue, because a well-known producer with whom I've come to discuss modern Russian writers, was in a bathrobe." Ugh. He apparently told her his masseuse was late but that they could have fun while he waited. She also remembers him saying: "'You will love it. I'm a guru in this matter. You never met a man like me.'" Though she doesn't know if he meant massage or not. She says she wondered if the press junket down the hall would hear her screams when she was saved "like a scene from a bad movie" when a waiter returned to the room with a bucket of champagne. She used the opportunity and made a swift exit. She saw Harvey again around a decade later at Cannes, when the two were introduced by a mutual acquaintance who didn't know they had met. She says she was nervous but recalls: "But Harvey, acting as if nothing had happened, kissed my hand and said quietly so that only I could hear: 'Don't even think about saying anything. Forget all about it. Be a smart girl.'" She never did say anything. But she is now. And so are a lot more women. [Image via Instagram/WENN.].....»»

Unsurprisingly, the 74-year-old industry vet isn't here for everyone's shade about how Gwyn handled Weinstein's come on. Related: All 45 Women Who Have Accused Harvey Weinstein So Far In fact, Blythe went on the attack for an opinionated letter published in The New York Times. The Meet The Parents actress clapped back: "I cannot remain silent while Maureen Dowd disparages my daughter, Gwyneth Paltrow, for the manner in which she chose to handle Harvey Weinstein's attempt at a sexual encounter when she was 22." You tell 'em, momma! Clearly, Miz Danner is responding to the piece written by columnist Maureen Dowd where the author called out Paltrow for putting aside her unsavory experience in order to become "the first lady of Miramax." Blythe did NOT appreciate that notion as she continued: "Gwyneth did not 'put aside her qualms to become the first lady of Miramax' back then, as Ms. Dowd would have it. She continued to hold her own and insist that Mr. Weinstein treat her with respect. She had learned from her father, the producer and director Bruce Paltrow, how to stand up for herself." Snap! Snap! Danner also called out Dowd for ignoring the fact that, despite Harvey's many threats, Gwyneth revealed the sexual harassment to her agent and then boyfriend Brad Pitt. Blythe went on to seemingly suggest that the columnist was victim shaming her flesh-and-blood as she concluded: "I suggest that the pundits stop casting aspersions on the women who have confronted unwanted sexual advances in the manner each sees fit and concentrate on the constructive ways to prevent this behavior in the future." Excellent point. We're just happy to see that Danner has taken action against those who would put Gwyneth on blast for her confession!! [Image via Brian To/WENN.].....»»

One of those women is Ashley Judd. In an encounter years ago, Ashley said she was invited to the Peninsula Beverly Hills hotel and met Harvey in a room, where he was wearing only a robe and asked if she wanted to massage him or watch him shower. “How do I get out of the room as fast as possible without alienating Harvey Weinstein?” Ashley told the New York Times. According to the publication, the accusations go back three decades. Over the years, he has reached settlements with an assistant in New York in 1990, an actress in 1997, an assistant in London in 1998, an Italian model in 2015 and a woman named Lauren O’Connor, who said she was left “crying and very distraught” after he had her massage him without his clothes on in a hotel room. Harvey responded to the allegations, “I appreciate the way I’ve behaved with colleagues in the past has caused a lot of pain, and I sincerely apologize for it. Though I’m trying to do better, I know I have a long way to go.” Harvey also added he’s continuing to work on himself by seeing therapists to “deal with this issue head on.” He plans to take a leave of absence. Harvey also released a statement to THR, saying, “I so respect all women and regret what happened. I hope that my actions will speak louder than words and that one day we will all be able to earn their trust and sit down together with Lisa to learn more. Jay Z wrote in 4:44 ‘I’m not the man I thought I was and I better be that man for my children.’ The same is true for me.” Harvey‘s lawyer, Lisa Bloom, called him “an old dinosaur learning new ways.” She also said she has “explained to him that due to the power difference between a major studio head like him and most others in the industry, whatever his motives, some of his words and behaviors can be perceived as inappropriate, even intimidating.” “From the outside, it seemed golden — the Oscars, the success, the remarkable cultural impact,” Mark Gill, former president of Miramax Los Angeles, told the NYT. “But behind the scenes, it was a mess, and this was the biggest mess of all.”.....»»

We knew that Pitt was a stand up guy, but this is incredible. As we previously reported, Miz Paltrow revealed in a chat with The New York Times that Weinstein propositioned her sexually after casting her in the major motion picture, Emma. The blonde starlet was only 22 at the time, but was in a serious relationship with Brad. Related: Harvey's Wife Is Leaving Him! Gwyn says after Harvey tried to bully her into giving him a massage in his hotel room, the Oscar winner confided in her man about the unsavory experience. While the 53-year-old has confirmed Gwyneth's account of what went down, it's since been revealed HOW EXACTLY Brad threatened the industry titan. According to People, Pitt confronted Weinstein while at a Hollywood party in 1995. A source told the magazine: "Brad threatened Harvey. He got right in his face, poked him in the chest and said, 'You will not ever do this to Gwyneth ever again.'" The insider also revealed that Pitt "made it clear there would be consequences" if Weinstein EVER tried to come onto Gwyneth again. It's said Brad promised to give Harvey a "Missouri whooping" if he mistreated his then-love. The tipser continued: "He made it absolutely clear this was not going to happen again and it didn't." Sadly, this threat somewhat backfired as the Iron Man actress has since revealed that Harvey berated her over the phone for telling Brad about the incident. As to how Harvey reacted to Brad's threats, the confidant says Weinstein "tried to explain, then he stopped and listened and got the message." What's huge about Pitt going to bat for Gwyneth is that he wasn't a major star at the time. We mean, the Hollywood hunk took a "big risk" by confronting Weinstein. The source put it perfectly as they dished to the publication: "He was a young guy in Hollywood taking a chance... He's one of the only men in Hollywood who stood up and said something. That's a fact." Bravo, Brad. Although, we DO wish he spoke out sooner about what a predator Harvey is... [Image via WENN.].....»»

The Oscar-winning actress has written a lengthy op-ed piece for The New York Times, in which she opens up about how she met Weinstein years before breaking out onto the scene with 12 Years a Slave. Lupita first met Weinstein at an event in Berlin in 2011 while she was a student at the Yale School of Drama. They exchanged information and he later invited her to his home in Westport, Conn. to watch a screening of a movie produced by a rival company. His family was to be present at the screening. At a private lunch, she says he forced her to order an alcoholic beverage and told her she needed to drink it when she refused. Lupita says that in her first encounter with Harvey, she found him to be “very direct and authoritative, but also charming,” but in the second she “found him to be pushy and idiosyncratic more than anything.” Shortly after the screening at Weinstein‘s home started, he escorted her out of the theater. “Harvey led me into a bedroom — his bedroom — and announced that he wanted to give me a massage,” she wrote. “I thought he was joking at first. He was not. For the first time since I met him, I felt unsafe. I panicked a little and thought quickly to offer to give him one instead: It would allow me to be in control physically, to know exactly where his hands were at all times.” When Harvey tried to take off his pants, Lupita said she was comfortable and headed for the door and said it was time for her to leave. Lupita wrote about some more encounters with Harvey, the final one being a dinner they had after she felt it was clear that boundaries were in place. “Before the starters arrived, he announced: ‘Let’s cut to the chase. I have a private room upstairs where we can have the rest of our meal,’” Lupita said. She declined and he told her to leave. When she asked if they were “good,” Harvey replied and said, “I don’t know about your career, but you’ll be fine.” “I did not see Harvey again until September 2013 when I was in Toronto for the premiere of 12 Years a Slave, the first feature film I was in. At an after-party, he found me and evicted whoever was sitting next to me to sit beside me. He said he couldn’t believe how fast I had gotten to where I was, and that he had treated me so badly in the past. He was ashamed of his actions and he promised to respect me moving forward. I said thank you and left it at that. But I made a quiet promise to myself to never ever work with Harvey Weinstein,” she continued. Lupita says that Harvey tried to work with her after winning the Oscar, but she refused. “Now that we are speaking, let us never shut up about this kind of thing. I speak up to make certain that this is not the kind of misconduct that deserves a second chance. I speak up to contribute to the end of the conspiracy of silence,” she concluded the piece......»»

After the story hit that Harvey had sexually harassed a number of women (including Ashley Judd) and had settled harassment accusations with eight women (including Rose McGowan) he wasn't the only one who needed to come up with a response. See, Weinstein, whose future at The Weinstein Company is currently in limbo, is also a big political donor who has given thousands to Democratic candidates over the years, putting those still in office or running into an awkward position. Related: Weinstein Gives First Interview Since Times Exposé So some are putting that money to good use. Cory Booker, junior senator from New Jersey, announced he is donating Harvey's $7,800 to the New Jersey Coalition Against Sexual Assault. Likewise, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren is regifting her 5K directly to charity. Democratic Senators Patrick Leahy (Vermont), Martin Heinrich (New Mexico), and Richard Blumenthal (Connecticut) have also done likewise. Weinstein donees who have not yet responded include Democratic minority leader Chuck Schumer (New York), Al Franken (Minnesota), Sheldon Whitehouse (Rhode Island), and Kirsten Gillibrand (New York).
