The actors are longtime friends after attending London’s Identity School of Acting at the same time. They went on to star in two of the biggest films ever – Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Black Panther. “Letitia and I were in the same class. It was so special for me to see her in [Black Panther] because I have seen Letitia from when we both had nothing, had no credibility, and wanted our chance. We would sit and after classes, everybody would congregate at a nearby McDonald’s and I remember seeing Letitia and we would speak about our dreams and our visions,” John told The Grio. FYI: John is wearing a Michael Kors Collection blazer, shirt, and trousers with Tod’s shoes. Letitia is wearing a Coach dress and bag with Forevermark jewelry. 10+ pictures inside of John Boyega and Letitia Wright at the Met Gala….....»»

Lupita Nyong"o & Letitia Wright Reflect on Being in "Black Panther"

Lupita Nyong’o and Letitia Wright are two of the bad-ass women you’ll see in the upcoming Marvel movie Black Panther and they’re interviewing each other for a new Teen Vogue feature! Here is what they had to share with the mag: Letitia on her Black Panther character, Shuri: “I liked how intelligent she was. She’s a teenager, but her age doesn’t define who she is. People think, You’re young; you don’t know what you’re talking about, but she didn’t let that be a limitation. I instinctively picked up [that Shuri] had something meaningful to say” Lupita on why Black Panther appealed to her: “Well, when Black Panther was announced about two years ago, Chadwick [Boseman] was signed on to play T’Challa, and I remember thinking, ‘Oh, snap, that’s going to be a moment!’ So when director Ryan Coogler started to talk to me about being a part of it, I was so excited….It had social and political relevance. My character, Nakia, was a departure from the character you see in the comic books. She’s this independent woman, super patriotic but also very questioning of her society, and I liked that. With her complicated relationship with T’Challa, I knew it was going to be kind of sexy, and I was like, ‘OK, I definitely want in.’” For more from the ladies, visit TeenVogue.com!.....»»

Letitia Wright Recalls a Time Where She Was "Depressed & Full of Anxiety"

Here’s what the 24-year-old Black Panther star had to share with the mag… On her early career: “I was depressed and full of anxiety. I think it was that pressure to be accepted, to be somebody. When you’re looking outside of yourself for happiness and validation, a mean comment on social media can wreck you. I was okay when I was on set, hiding behind my work, but when I wasn’t acting I was full of fear and doubt, trying to fill this void inside of me any way I could: drinking, smoking. It was bad.” On almost quitting acting: “When I first became a Christian, I said, ‘I’m never acting again. I’m done.’ [Six months later, she said,] God was speaking to me and said, ‘This is your talent, it’s what you’re meant to do.’” On Black Panther: “I knew Black Panther was going to be impactful, but I didn’t anticipate it would take off in such a maaajor way.” For more from Letitia, visit Wmagazine.com......»»

Black Panther Is All About The Women! Get The Deets In Our Review Roundup!

The reviews are in today, and Black Panther is sounding like another solid Marvel Studios entry to some — and something much more to others. So what do the range of positive words (at the time of this writing, the film holds a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes with 51 reviews counted) have in common? First, absolutely glowing [...] The reviews are in today, and Black Panther is sounding like another solid Marvel Studios entry to some -- and something much more to others. So what do the range of positive words (at the time of this writing, the film holds a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes with 51 reviews counted) have in common? First, absolutely glowing reviews for the production design (Hannah Beachler), costumes (Ruth E. Carter), and cinematography (Rachel Morrison). Video: Kendrick Lamar & The Weeknd Bless Us With New Black Panther Song Pray For Me And the supporting cast, including Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, and villain Michael B. Jordan, are consistently lauded as standouts. While this is mostly a good thing, especially for women's representation in the world of superhero movies -- some feel Chadwick Boseman's stoic lead is in danger of being overshadowed by everyone else... See what critics had to say (below): Jason Gerrasio, Business Insider: "Like "Wonder Woman" last year, "Black Panther" is a project that fans have been waiting decades to see. And just like "Wonder Woman," it was worth the wait." Liz Braun, Toronto Sun: "Black Panther is every bit as good as you were hoping. Actually -- it's better. A terrific screenplay from Ryan Coogler and Joe Robert Cole elevates this thing way beyond the usual boundaries of the Marvel Universe." Jake Coyle, AP: "Just as he did in the surprisingly sensational Rocky reboot "Creed," Coogler hasn't reinvented the genre so much as electrified it with a new perspective and a rare talent for marrying naturalistic character development with spectacle muscle." Haleigh Foutch, Collider: "Black Panther isn't just a crowd-pleasing superhero movie (though it is that for sure), it's a vital moment in cinema history and a heartfelt, thoughtful exploration of the scars of colonialism and the hope for healing." Manohla Dargis, The NY Times: "It's important to the movie's politics and myth-building that he is surrounded by a phalanx of women, among them a battalion of women warriors called the Dora Milaje. These aren't moviedom's irritatingly token strong chicks, the tough babes with sizable biceps and skills but no real roles." Robbie Collin, Telegraph: "Black Panther seems to overcome the genre's long-standing neuroses around creating rounded, exciting roles for women by just getting on with it." Alonso Duralde, TheWrap: "Black Panther does such a great job introducing the fascinating supporting characters in his orbit that it can barely find time to dig into its purported protagonist." Marc Bernardin, Nerdist: "As a nerd and as a black man, I've been waiting for this movie for my entire life, whether I knew it or not. The fact that Black Panther gets so much right, but one crucial thing wrong, is both thrilling and maddening." David Ehrlich, IndieWire: "In making a movie that so lucidly allows one group of people to see themselves on screen, Coogler has created the first Marvel movie in which anyone can see themselves on screen. That's an accomplishment all viewers can appreciate — one that gives new depth to the overarching themes of the MCU, finally grounding this franchise with the kind of stakes that it needs to support its cosmic scale." Jamie Broadnax, BlackGirlNerds: "I left the theater wanting to see this movie at least 10 more times. I already know that Black Panther‘s weight in gold at the box office will be in repeat viewings, because we just won't want this cinematic experience to end." [Image via Marvel.].....»»

Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life. The Ryan Coogler-directed film also stars Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, and Forest Whitaker. Jaden Smith Struggled To Fit In With "Normal People" Because Of How They Treated Him!

Jaden Smith just wants to be a normal human. But alas, he's cursed to be a celebuspawn and it's not always as great as it's cracked up to be. But alas, he's cursed to be a celebuspawn and it's not always as great as it's cracked up to be. In a new interview with Dazed, the 20-year-old lamented about his struggles to fit into normal life after growing up in the spotlight and household of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith. Video: Jada Says Her Vagina "Is Like A 16-Year-Old"! Reflecting on how he didn't spend much time with "normal people" growing up, the rapper and Twit-losopher admitted that people treated him so differently over the years that he began to question if he was even a "normal human." He dished: "People treat me like I'm not a normal human so much, that you start to believe it, like, 'Am I not a normal human?' I didn't always get to hang out with normal people when I was young. So being older and being able to hang out with the big kids and play with normal people is fun." Awwww, Jaden. No... no, you're not. Thankfully, the artist has been able to live somewhat a normal life in the skate park -- once the other skaters forget he's Jaden fucking Smith, of course: "When I go to skate parks, people are like, 'Oh shit, is that Jaden Smith?' for about the first five minutes. Then after that, it's totally fine and I'm another skater." In fact, the Skate Kitchen star says he'd live out his days as just another skater if he didn't have other celebrity obligations: "If I wasn't famous and didn't have all this shit going on, and I didn't have to fly to all these different places all the time, I would just be here with these guys, every day just skating. That would be my vibe." Sounds... too normal, if you ask us! Stay abnormal, kiddo. [Image via Jonathan Rebboah/News Pictures/WENN.].....»»

The movie is hitting theaters at midnight, and we’ll finally be able to see the highly anticipated film, which stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis. Be sure to check out Black Panther, in theaters tonight at midnight! There are spoilers ahead, so read at your own risk! Click inside to see what happens after the Black Panther credits… There are two scenes after the movie ends. The first hits mid-credits. The scene takes place at the United Nations in Vienna, where T’Challa (aka Black Panther) shares with the council that Wakanda will be more open and will begin to share their knowledge and resources. The scene ends with one of the council members asking what resources they have to offer. T’Challa then smirks. Of course, this must refer to Vibranium, a very powerful material. Black Panther’s suit and Captain America’s shield are both made of Vibranium, and in addition, Vibranium is what Ultron was collecting which ultimately made Vision (played by Paul Bettany). The second scene takes place at the end of the credits in a remote hut in Wakanda. We see Bucky Barnes (the Winter Soldier) wake up and emerge out of a tent and speak to T’Challa’s sister, Shuri and thank her. During this scene, the kids of Wakanda refer him as the “White Wolf.” The last time we saw Bucky was in a mid-credits scene after Captain America: Civil War. He was in a lab in Wakanda where he agreed to be placed in cryogenic stasis. Captain America thanked T’Challa for looking after Bucky and T’Challa said he’ll be safe in Wakanda. FYI: In the comics, the “White Wolf” was actually a character named Hunter, an orphaned boy that T’Challa’s father raised. The film ends saying that Black Panther will return in Avengers: Infinity War......»»
