Octomom Resurfaces! Natalie Suleman Reflects On Being Suicidal, The "Angel" That Saved Her Life, & The Challenges Of Raising 14 Kids!

Time for an octo-check in! Natalie (formerly Nadya) Suleman, who was dubbed by the media as "Octomom" when she gave birth to octuplets through in vitro fertilization (IVF) eight years ago, is finally "at peace" with all the strife that came after her controversial pregnancy. Natalie (formerly Nadya) Suleman, who was dubbed by the media as "Octomom" when she gave birth to octuplets through in vitro fertilization (IVF) eight years ago, is finally "at peace" with all the strife that came after her controversial pregnancy. The 42-year-old opened up about how tough looking after her 14 children was after giving birth to the world's only living set of octuplets, admitting her financial problems and parental responsibilities pushed her to the brink of suicide. Related: Blac Chyna's New Reality Show Will Feature Dream Kardashian! Speaking to DailyMail.com, Natalie said the media persona of "Octomom" had "nearly destroyed me and my family." She revealed: "Every day I would wake up with the most ugly, dead, visceral feeling inside of me. I didn't want to live. I felt less than human as that character I was pretending to be, to survive and provide for my family." The "character" of Octomom led Natalie to do a pornographic film, for which she won four Adult Video Network awards, and appear in strip clubs. She felt these gigs were necessary to take care of her family, but they also made Natalie feel "disgusted" in who she had become: 'What [Octomom] was disgusted me and I did not want my children to remember me like that. I was forced into doing things I didn't want to do because I was so terrified I couldn't support them and give them the life I deserved. When I abandoned it and went back to who I really am I had that sense of peace, internal joy." But before she could abandon Octomom, Natalie, who was already a mother-of-six before she had the octuplets, had to hit rock bottom. She remembered: "I was so low I was taking prescription drugs, benzodiazepines. I had to medicate to just get through what I was doing. I would mix it with alcohol which I later found out was what Whitney Houston, died from. I didn't want to be here anymore, but then I thought about my children and just had to keep going for them." Then, one night while working at a strip club, Natalie claims she was approached by a strange man who gently told her to change her life -- a man she believes might have been an angel: "I was in a strip club in Florida in February 2013, and this very tall man, this stranger came in. He walked straight to me and looked straight into my eyes. He took my hand and grabbed my arm and said in a very gentle but firm way: ‘You do not have to do this.' He repeated it five times. I couldn't control the tears that were streaming down my face. I had that ugly feeling of nausea. I looked down for a moment, and looked up and he was gone." Sounds like someone was looking out for her! Related: Tristan Thompson Gushes About Khloé Kardashian's Pregnancy After speaking with the mysterious visitor, Natalie said she knew she had to make a change: "I knew I had to be my healthy self again. I didn't want my kids not to have a mom." Making such a 180 turn wasn't easy, however. After moving her family back to her hometown in Orange County, CA, Natalie was found guilty of welfare fraud -- charges that were "totally expunged" after she pleaded no contest and blamed her management. Now, Natalie works part time as a counselor, working with men and women who suffer from drug and alcohol abuse. Sure, money is still "a struggle every day," but the family is making it work. The tribe lives in a two bedroom townhouse in Laguna Niguel, where they have converted the office into a third bedroom so all her children have beds to sleep in. Related: Kim & Kourtney Are Giving Khloé "A Lot Of Pregnancy Tips" The octuplets, she revealed, "fight, play, fight and play again" like any normal kids -- but they are aware their household is different from most: "The whole family, we are all kind of different. The kids say, ‘oh are we weird somehow?' and I say, ‘it's OK to be different if there is nothing wrong with it." The kids are happy and that is all that matters." The "shy and introverted" children also look out for one another. 12-year-old Aiden has autism, but Natalie said his siblings look after him "like his guardian angels," adding: "His brother Makai, he literally shadows him, and helps give him bites of food – they have a very special bond. Aiden has the mind of an 18-month-old, he's still non-verbal and in his diapers 24/7. I am open with the kids and I teach them about autism." All of these challenges have inspired Natalie to write a book she is hoping will inspire other women to keep pressing forward. She explained: "It's a story that needs to be told and I think it will encourage a lot of women to draw up strength they didn't know they had. I believe it will help inspire women to keep pressing forward despite the pain and suffering they may be experiencing. If you set a goal you can achieve anything." And Natalie is doing just that -- despite raising 14 children on her own, the mother formerly known as Octomom isn't looking for a partner: "That's just not me. My calling was to be a mom. I am happiest at home with the kids. And I knew when I did this I would be sacrificing a social life. But that's OK because I'm not social." Looking back, Natalie admits she was "very foolish, immature and selfish" to have 14 kids, but couldn't see her life turning out any way else. She reflected: "I was on a mission. I just wanted to have a bunch of kids. But I couldn't imagine my life at this point in time any different than it is." Wow. Who knew Octomom would be the inspiring figure we needed to end this very uninspiring year? [Image via WENN.].....»»

Yes, Natalie Portman Regrets Signing The Petition To Release Alleged Rapist Roman Polanski

For Natalie Portman, it was signing a petition to release Roman Polanski from Swiss custody in 2009 after he was arrested for an old warrant connected to the rape of a 13-year-old girl. Video: Ellen DeGeneres Won A Bet For Guessing The Sex Of Natalie's Baby! In a new interview with Buzzfeed, the Annihilation star admits she made a mistake by "not thinking about it enough" and simply signing her name because someone she respected asked her to. She explained to the outlet: "I very much regret it. I take responsibility for not thinking about it enough. Someone I respected gave it to me, and said, ‘I signed this. Will you, too?' And I was like, ‘Sure.'" Portman was just one of the many famous names reported to have signed the petition in 2009. Other stars including Martin Scorsese, David Lynch, and Darren Aronofsky demanded "the immediate release" of Polanski after he was arrested for a then-decades old warrant related to his rape case. Related: Natalie Remembers 'Unacceptable' Encounter On Producer's Plane Of course, 2009 was a "different world," the actress professes -- one where Hollywood was turning a blind eye to all the #MeToo stories it systematically generated. But even under the lens of Time's Up, the 36-year-old says she gained something from signing the petition: the ability to empathize with people who make mistakes. She continued: "It was a mistake. The thing I feel like I gained from it is empathy towards people who have made mistakes. We lived in a different world, and that doesn't excuse anything. But you can have your eyes opened and completely change the way you want to live. My eyes were not open." Now, Portman's pretty peepers are open wide and ready to annihilate the patriarchy, but she stresses that the movement shouldn't be about which man to take down next. Video: Natalie Gets Trigger Happy On SNL! When asked if she thinks "Time's Up" for Woody Allen, whom she worked with on the 1996 film Everyone Says I Love You, Portman replied: "I don't think that's what the conversation should be about. I think it should be about: Why didn't Elaine May make a movie every year? Why didn't Nora Ephron make a movie every year? Where's the female version of Bill Cosby? Why don't we see any Asian women in films? There's so much art that's being lost by not giving opportunities to women and people of color." The Time's Up advocate added: "Let's not talk about what man's career is over. Let's talk about the vast art trove we've lost by not giving women, people of color, people with disabilities, and the LGBTQ+ community opportunities — let's talk about that loss for all of us in art. Let's talk about that huge hole in our culture. I don't want talk about ‘Isn't it sad that this person who's made 500 movies can't make movies anymore?' That's not for me to decide. And it's also not what I'm upset about." So, what is she upset about? The quantity of shitty roles she's STILL being offered as an Oscar winning movie star: "It's crazy. It's crazy! And I get a lot more than a lot of other women, and the stuff I get, I'm like, what? With big leading roles, so often motivations are bad things happening to the children. I don't want to play that! Literally, if you take that out, 90% of what's sent to me, I can't do. Or sexual violence. The number of times you're raped onscreen — there are other things that can motivate women and shape their emotional worlds. It's definitely limited." Thankfully, the limits are slowly ceasing to exist. Portman will be killing mutant alien hybrids with an all-female team in Annihilation, in theaters Friday. [Image via Media Punch.].....»»

The ladies were in attendance to represent Time’s Up. Joining Natalie and Rashida at the panel were filmmaker Ava DuVernay, CAA motion picture agent Maha Dakhil, Katie McGrath, Grammy-winning music video director Melina Matsoukas, entertainment lawyer Nina Shaw and writer-producer Jill Soloway. “Usually we’re the only woman at work. Like many other industries, we walk onto a nearly all male set and we’re usually alone and we rarely get to interact with each other,” Natalie said (via THR) about the movement bringing together women. “If you’re the only woman in the room it isolates you and prevents you from sharing stories so if there are predators you don’t talk to each other. It’s empowering to be in a room, on the same team, and refuse to be pitted against each other. There’s not only one spot—we’re going to make room for all of us. It’s really powerful. And we have all these new friends.” Natalie and the ladies also announced that, since the January 1st launch of Time’s Up, the organization has raised $20 million and received requests for legal aid from those who lack the means to defend themselves from workplace abuses — farm workers, hotel workers, steelworkers, and others. Natalie Portman’s Creative “Woke” Woody Allen Spin

Since pretty much every actor and actress in Hollywood has kissed the ring slipped onto the crepey blotched hand of Woody Allen over the six decades that he has been directing five good movies and three-hundred terrible ones, pretty much every actor or actress in Hollywood must face questioning regarding his sexual misconduct because this is 2018 and we want to hear these things. Natalie Portman starred in one of those memorable Allen classics, Everyone Says I Love You, in 1996. When interrogated about her involvement with a sex offender in a recent interview with Buzzbottomfeeder pimping her new flick Annihilation, Portman put every lawyer from every courtroom procedural ever to shame by flipping the script with the calculation and litigiousness that only the owner of a fake degree from Harvard could: I don’t think that’s what the conversation should be about. I think it should be about: Why didn’t Elaine May make a movie every year? Why didn’t Nora Ephron make a movie every year? Where’s the female version of Bill Cosby? Why don’t we see any Asian women in films? There’s so much art that’s being lost by not giving opportunities to women and people of color. Let’s not talk about what man’s career is over. Let’s talk about the vast art trove we’ve lost by not giving women, people of color, people with disabilities, and the LGBTQ+ community opportunities — let’s talk about that loss for all of us in art. Let’s talk about that huge hole in our culture. I don’t want talk about “Isn’t it sad that this person who’s made 500 movies can’t make movies anymore?” That’s not for me to decide. And it’s also not what I’m upset about. Someone learned about anaphora in her fake poetry class. I was all set to defend Portman on this one, because 1996 was a very different time – after all it was only three years after Americans were first introduced to the predator mantra from Dazed and Confused: “I get older, they stay the same age.” “Woke” didn’t mean “faux lesbian Katy Perry” and many of the allegations against Allen were not widely know. So questioning her about it is a shameless, vapid ploy for headlines. But Portman had to go and sound insufferable, and in fact the title of her interview is “Natalie Portman Is The Woke Actor We Need Right Now.” Portman is basically saying that once a situation becomes too convoluted we should sweep it under the rug and think about next steps, which is going to be very useful for the likes of Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, Louis C.K., and of course Woody Allen. What’s done is done! Free pass for everyone as long as Greta Gerwig can make boring movies. Natalie Portman Remembers "Unacceptable" Encounter On A Producer"s Private Plane & Explains Why She"s Speaking Out Now!

Natalie Portman has 100 stories involving producers' unacceptable behavior. Gracing the cover of PORTER's Spring issue, the Annihilation star told the magazine that the #MeToo movement has helped her reexamine icky experiences from her own past. Video: Natalie Gets Trigger Happy On SNL! The industry vet explained: "I went from thinking, ‘I don't have a story' to ‘Oh, wait, [...] Natalie Portman has 100 stories involving producers' unacceptable behavior. Gracing the cover of PORTER's Spring issue, the Annihilation star told the magazine that the #MeToo movement has helped her reexamine icky experiences from her own past. Video: Natalie Gets Trigger Happy On SNL! The industry vet explained: "I went from thinking, ‘I don't have a story' to ‘Oh, wait, I have 100 stories.' And I think a lot of people are having these reckonings with themselves, of things that we just took for granted as like, this is part of the process." One situation in particular was when a producer invited Portman aboard his private plane and made a very inappropriate insinuation, which she did previously reveal in November. She recalled: "It was just the two of us, and only one bed was made up...Nothing happened, I was not assaulted. I did make a point of saying, ‘This does not make me feel comfortable,' and that was respected. But that was super not okay, you know? That was really unacceptable and manipulative. I was scared." Yuck. What a nightmare! But it's the nightmarish behavior the actress has been unfortunately dealing with since she first began her Hollywood career as a young teenager. At the Women's March in Los Angeles, the Time's Up activist revealed she experienced sexual harassment at the age of 13 when her first film was released. Related: Oprah & Natalie Lead Powerful Conversation About #TimesUp Campaign! Her first ever piece of fan mail, which came after 1994's Léon: The Professional came out, was a rape fantasy written by a man. She said at the event: "I understood very quickly, even as a 13-year-old, that if I were to express myself sexually I would feel unsafe and that men would feel entitled to discuss and objectify my body to my great discomfort." Now adding her voice to the droves of women speaking out against sexual misconduct, Portman says it's important these cries of pain are heard. She told PORTER: "A lot of people have been speaking out for a long time and not been heard, particularly women of color, so it's very important the industry listens." Amen! Time to annihilate this imbalance of power once and for all. Be sure to stay tuned to hear more from Natalie, and ch-ch-check out her cover shot (below)!
