Rose McGowan Finally Says The Words — Harvey Weinstein "Raped Me"

The star has implied in every way possible that she was assaulted by Harvey Weinstein. She said she was raped by a studio exec but didn't name him, the New York Times exposé listed her as someone to whom the exec had to give a $100K payoff for "an episode in a hotel room during the Sundance Film Festival," and she is rumored to be the actress who pulled out of Ronan Farrow's article over "the legal angle." Video: Asia Argento Based A Scene In Her Movie Off Her Alleged Sexual Assault But now she's apparently giving no fucks. In a series of FIRE tweets to Amazon president Jeff Bezos, accusing him of killing her project after she spoke out about Weinstein, she finally says the words outright. Read her righteous rant (below): 1) @jeffbezos I told the head of your studio that HW raped me. Over & over I said it. He said it hadn’t been proven. I said I was the proof. — rose mcgowan (@rosemcgowan) October 12, 2017 2) @jeffbezos I had already sold a script I wrote to your studio, it was in development. When I heard a Weinstein bailout was in the works — rose mcgowan (@rosemcgowan) October 12, 2017 3) @Jeffbezos I forcefully begged studio head to do the right thing. I was ignored. Deal was done. Amazon won a dirty Oscar. — rose mcgowan (@rosemcgowan) October 12, 2017 4) @jeffbezos I called my attorney & said I want to get my script back, but before I could, #2 @amazonstudios called to say my show was dead — rose mcgowan (@rosemcgowan) October 12, 2017 4) @jeffbezos I am calling on you to stop funding rapists, alleged pedos and sexual harassers. I love @amazon but there is rot in Hollywood — rose mcgowan (@rosemcgowan) October 12, 2017 5) @jeffbezos Be the change you want to see in the world. Stand with truth. #ROSEARMY #Amazon — rose mcgowan (@rosemcgowan) October 12, 2017 Respect, gurl. Robert Rodriguez Says He Cast Rose McGowan In Grindhouse To SPITE Harvey Weinstein — And The Movie Got "Buried" Because Of Her!

We've heard lots of stories over the past couple weeks from women Harvey Weinstein scared into silence. But what would have happened if they fought back? But what would have happened if they fought back? Video: Rose McGowan's Powerful Speech At The Detroit Women's Convention According to Robert Rodriguez, he did try to help Rose McGowan beat Harvey's "blacklisting" of her -- by casting her in his Weinstein Company-funded film Grindhouse. In fact, in an official essay for Variety, he reveals the plot of his half of the throwback double feature with Quentin Tarantino was inspired by her story, something he could never talk about before: "I have not previously discussed what I knew about the 1997 incident that Rose suffered in a hotel room during the Sundance Film Festival. I never wanted to do anything that jeopardized a legal settlement she entered into with Harvey Weinstein. Now that she's able to tell her story, I want to provide an account of what I knew, when I knew it, and what I did about it." Rodriguez says he first learned of her "blacklisting" at Cannes in 2005, when she explained to him why she hadn't auditioned for Sin City. She told him the whole story of the assault -- and the subsequent legal action: "Rose told me that all she could do at the time was to get Harvey Weinstein to donate money to an abused women's shelter and in return she had to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) that forbade her from talking about the horrific violation without being sued, and that she shouldn't even be telling me. To add insult to injury, she told me that she was blacklisted from even auditioning for any Weinstein movies." That's when the director got PISSED -- and decided to go renegade: "I then revealed to Rose right then and there that I was about to start writing a movie with Quentin Tarantino, a double feature throwback to 70's exploitation movies, and that if she was interested, I would write her a BAD ASS character and make her one of the leads. I wanted her to have a starring role in a big movie to take her OFF the blacklist, and the best part is that we would have Harvey's new Weinstein Company pay for the whole damn thing." But they got to throw it in Harvey's face sooner than they were expecting: "Just as I finished telling Rose this, I saw Harvey walking around the party! I called Harvey over to our table, and as soon as he got close enough to see that I was sitting with Rose, his face dropped and went ghostly white. I said, "Hey Harvey, this is Rose McGowan. I think she's amazing and really talented and I'm going to cast her in my next movie." Harvey then dribbled all over himself in the most over the top performance I'd ever seen as he gushed, "Oh she's wonderful, oh she's amazing, oh she's fantastic, oh she's so talented… You two should definitely work together." And then he skittered off. I knew right then that every word Rose told me was true, you could see it all over his face." They made the film, a star-studded, strangely meta movie that played like two '70s B movies, complete with fake trailers for other movies made by friends like Eli Roth and Edgar Wright. It was crazy and long and ahead of its time -- and Rose is spectacular in it. Unfortunately it completely tanked at the box office. Rodriguez still believes Harvey's vendetta against Rose is what kept the movie from even being given a fighting chance with a proper ad campaign, etc. He explains: "But because of the NDA Rose told me she had signed, at Rose's request I had to keep it quiet from everyone until now as to why we were even making that film together, especially Harvey. We knew that strategically we couldn't rub it in his face why we were REALLY doing this movie, because then he'd just bury the movie, not sell it well, and everyone would lose. To our horror, Harvey buried our movie anyway, and because we did not want to risk getting sued, we never spoke publicly about the matter... I am still haunted and disillusioned that after all the good intentions, immense pain and struggle Rose and I and so many talented people went through to make the film, that Harvey Weinstein won in the end by burying the movie just because Rose was the lead actress." Robert wishes they could have spoken about the inspiration of the film, the fight behind the scenes before now. And he hopes this new conversation will change things in Hollywood and other businesses: "It's been really difficult to admit and come to terms that the NDA handcuffs forced us to needlessly jump through hoops that today would have been unnecessary because of Rose's fearlessness to speak out, despite the consequences. I hope that new legislation will result in NDAs to be legally null and void in situations where rape and assault have been committed and where power is so unequally distributed." Hear, hear! "Looking back over the years, I have wondered if I would have made the same choices, knowing the bleak outcome. We all suffered greatly on the film, and the journey ended up costing us all more than we ever bargained for. For me personally, it cost me my marriage of 16 years, my family, a large dose of sanity, and for years I have grappled with the sobering idea that maybe I made a grave error in standing up at all, when no one was even asking me to." OK, we have to stop right there -- was it really the movie failing at the box office that cost you your marriage, Robert? Or did dating your star do it? In case you didn't know, Robert and Rose went public with their relationship when the movie came out -- immediately after news of his split with his wife, Elizabeth Avellan, hit. Photos: 10 Movies That Ruined Celebrity Relationships Not the point, we know, but gotta be honest here. Anyway, go on: "I know that's not the message I'd ever want to send out, but it's been hard to justify something that now is clear was a lose/lose situation from the get-go, and that in the end failed and simply caused more damage. The reason I'm saying this is because it's very clear to me now that when someone does what Harvey Weinstein did, the devastation goes far beyond predator and victim. These past few weeks have given me new clarity and hope by seeing the tide finally turn, seeing Harvey finally on the run, and seeing all the brave women who have come forth with their own shocking and distressing stories of abuse. Since I've seen a distinct lack of stories coming from men who may have tried to do the right thing, I wanted to come forth to say that no matter the consequences, no matter how far you have to stick your neck out, no matter what you have to lose, that we must fight the good fight. Everyone has to make a stand and take action." Damn right they do! Because two against the world isn't enough. This fight needs to be ALL of us against them. [Image via Z. Rose McGowan"s Twitter Account Suspended Following Harvey Weinstein & Ben Affleck Posts: "There Are Powerful Forces At Work"

It appears that may be the case as the Charmed alum took to Instagram on Wednesday to reveal that her Twitter account had been suspended for violating the social media site's rules. Wait, so Miz McGowan's Twitter can get shut down, but Donald Trump's can't??? Related: Lindsay Lohan Doubles Down On Weinstein Defense Smh. The 44-year-old shared with her followers: TWITTER HAS SUSPENDED ME. THERE ARE POWERFUL FORCES AT WORK. BE MY VOICE. #ROSEARMYA post shared by Rose McGowan (@rosemcgowan) on Oct 11, 2017 at 9:19pm PDT This suspension comes shortly after Rose's VVV vocal online statements about Harvey Weinstein and his sexual misconduct scandal. Not to mention, the Scream actress also put Ben Affleck on blast for playing ignorant about Weinstein's predatory ways. McGowan even told Affleck to "fuck off" at one point. While the suspension notice didn't specify why exactly her account was unable to share new messages, Twitter's online terms claim they suspend accounts if tweets have been reported to the company as being "abusive." So if a user has been "sending threats to others or impersonating other accounts," Twitter will suspend an account. Although Rose's posts have been uncensored and passionate, we're shocked to see the content has been enough to freeze her page -- especially since there are SO many aggressive trolls out there. Twitter had only this to say about the suspension: "We don't comment on individual accounts for privacy and security reasons." Sure, okay. [Image via Derrick Salters/WENN.].....»»

As we reported over the weekend, Rose McGowan SLAMMED The Post star on Twitter for, in her opinion, being a "hypocrite" regarding her professional relationship with Harvey Weinstein. Related: Rose McGowan Goes After 'Fake' Alyssa Milano! In a since-deleted tweet, the Charmed actress -- who has publicly accused the mogul of rape -- says Streep "happily" worked for Weinstein and stayed "silent" about his alleged abuses for years. Rose wrote: "Actresses, like Meryl Streep, who happily worked for The Pig Monster, are wearing black @goldenglobes in a silent protest. YOUR SILENCE is THE problem. You'll accept a fake award breathlessly & affect no real chance. I despise your hypocrisy. Maybe you should all wear Marchesa." On Monday, the 68-year-old released a statement to HuffPost via publicist Leslee Dart where she says she truly "did not know about Weinstein's crimes," and that McGowan "assumed and broadcast something untrue about me." As we wrote in October, the Oscar winner said she "didn't know about [Weinstein's] offenses" in a previous comment to HuffPost. Read her full statement (below): "It hurt to be attacked by Rose McGowan in banner headlines this weekend, but I want to let her know I did not know about Weinstein's crimes, not in the 90s when he attacked her, or through subsequent decades when he proceeded to attack others. I wasn't deliberately silent. I didn't know. I don't tacitly approve of rape. I didn't know. I don't like young women being assaulted. I didn't know this was happening. I don't know where Harvey lives, nor has he ever been to my home. I have never in my life been invited to his hotel room. I have been to his office once, for a meeting with Wes Craven for "Music of the Heart" in 1998. HW distributed movies I made with other people. HW was not a filmmaker; he was often a producer, primarily a marketer of films made by other people- some of them great, some not great. But not every actor, actress, and director who made films that HW distributed knew he abused women, or that he raped Rose in the 90s, other women before and others after, until they told us. We did not know that women's silence was purchased by him and his enablers. HW needed us not to know this, because our association with him bought him credibility, an ability to lure young, aspiring women into circumstances where they would be hurt. He needed me much more than I needed him and he made sure I didn't know. Apparently he hired ex Mossad operators to protect this information from becoming public. Rose and the scores of other victims of these powerful, moneyed, ruthless men face an adversary for whom Winning, at any and all costs, is the only acceptable outcome. That's why a legal defense fund for victims is currently being assembled to which hundreds of good hearted people in our business will contribute, to bring down the bastards, and help victims fight this scourge within. Rose assumed and broadcast something untrue about me, and I wanted to let her know the truth. Through friends who know her, I got my home phone number to her the minute I read the headlines. I sat by that phone all day yesterday and this morning, hoping to express both my deep respect for her and others' bravery in exposing the monsters among us, and my sympathy for the untold, ongoing pain she suffers. No one can bring back what entitled bosses like Bill O'Reilly, Roger Ailes, and HW took from the women who endured attacks on their bodies and their ability to make a living.. And I hoped that she would give me a hearing. She did not, but I hope she reads this. I am truly sorry she sees me as an adversary, because we are both, together with all the women in our business, standing in defiance of the same implacable foe: a status quo that wants so badly to return to the bad old days, the old ways where women were used, abused and refused entry into the decision-making, top levels of the industry. That's where the cover-ups convene. Those rooms must be disinfected, and integrated, before anything even begins to change." [Image via Apega/WENN.].....»»

Rose McGowan Gets Into INTENSE Shouting Match With Trans Heckler During Book Signing: "I Didn"t Agree To Your Cis Fucking World"

Mo' movements, mo' problems. Rose McGowan's book reading turned ugly on Wednesday when a woman in the crowd confronted her about transgender rights. What began as an emotional reading of her new memoir Brave, which documents the harrowing accounts of being (allegedly) raped by an unnamed Harvey Weinstein, turned into a confusing argument targeting "white cis feminism." What began as an emotional reading of her new memoir Brave, which documents the harrowing accounts of being (allegedly) raped by an unnamed Harvey Weinstein, turned into a confusing argument targeting "white cis feminism." Related: Rose Says She Was Molested By Another 'Very Famous' Predator The drama went down in the Union Square Barnes & Noble in New York City. McGowan had just finished responding to a question about the fears she had in coming forward with her allegations when a woman in the crowd brought up comments she made on RuPaul's What's the Tee? podcast in July 2017. Shooting up from her seat, the heckler said: "I have a suggestion. Talk about what you said on RuPaul. Trans women are dying and you said that we, as trans women, are not like regular women. We get raped more often. We go through domestic violence more often. There was a trans woman killed here a few blocks [away]. I have been followed home –." The woman was then interrupted by McGowan, who tried to explain that the point she was making was that all women -- trans or cis-gender -- are in the same boat. She retorted: "Hold on. So am I. We are the same. My point was, we are the same. There's an entire show called ID channel, a network, dedicated to women getting abused, murdered, sexualized, violated, and you're a part of that, too, sister. It's the same." The woman wasn't satisfied, hitting back: "You do nothing for them. Trans women are in men's prisons. And what have you done for them?" To which the Jawbreaker star replied: "What have you done for women?" With that, the terse exchange escalated into a shouting match, with McGowan demanding the heckler sit down as her voice broke. Video: Rose Says Alyssa Milano Is Part Of Hollywood's 'Pimp Problem'! The woman was then escorted away by Barnes & Noble security, chanting "white cis feminism," as McGowan launched an emotional tirade into the microphone: "Don't label me, sister. Don't put your labels on me. Don't you fucking do that. Do not put your labels on me. I don't come from your planet. Leave me alone. I do not subscribe to your rules. I do not subscribe to your language. You will not put labels on me or anybody. Step the fuck back. What I do for the fucking world and you should be fucking grateful. Shut the fuck up. Get off my back. What have you done? I know what I've done, God dammit." Not sure what to do with this sudden attack, the crowd sprinkled the actress with cheers and compliments of encouragement. McGowan continued to the audience: "I'm not crying I'm fucking mad with the lies. I'm mad that you put shit on me because I have a fucking vagina and I'm white or I'm black or I'm yellow or I'm purple. Fuck off. All of us want to say it. I just do... I might have information you want. I might know shit that you don't. So fucking shut up. Please systemically. For once. In the world. You know what I'm talking about. Just tell the God damned truth. Stop boxing everybody into shit. I didn't agree to your cis fucking world. Ok? Fuck off." We can definitely understand why McGowan got so heated over this. In sharing her story, she's perpetuating a movement that's aiming to fighting abuse against women, but is she also supposed to be a trans rights activist? Maybe this heckler should be crashing Caitlyn Jenner's book signing. Although, that's not to excuse whatever the fuck Rose even meant by saying, "I don't come from your planet." Thoughts?? Rose McGowan"s Former Manager Commits Suicide Amid Harvey Weinstein Controversy — And Her Family Blames Rose!

Producer Jill Messick is dead, according to her family -- who are making it very clear who they believe is to blame. Messick was Rose McGowan's manager in the 1997, the year Rose claims Harvey Weinstein raped her at the Sundance Film Festival. Related: Rose Cancels Upcoming Appearances & Demands Apology After Fight With Trans Heckler Her family mourned her loss in a public statement, saying: "Jill Messick was a mother of two children, a loving wife and partner, a dear friend to many and a smart entertainment executive. She was also a survivor, privately battling depression which had been her nemesis for years. Today she did not survive. Jill took her own life." They also unequivocally blamed Rose and Harvey -- saying Jill "became collateral damage in an already horrific story" as she was caught between the two: "Seeing her name in headlines again and again, as part of one person's attempt to gain more attention for her personal cause, along with Harvey's desperate attempt to vindicate himself, was devastating for her. It broke Jill, who was just starting to get her life back on track. What makes Rose's inaccurate accusations and insinuations against Jill ironic was that she was the first person who stood up on Rose's behalf, and alerted her bosses to the horrific experience which Rose suffered." Rose claimed she told her manager about the incident, and she did nothing. Messick did go on to work as a production executive at Weinstein's Miramax from 1997 to 2003. Harvey recently used a statement attributed to her in his most specific denial of wrongdoing yet. Related: 50+ Women Have Accused Harvey Weinstein The family now insists Jill reported the matter to her bosses at Addis Wechsler management at the time and thought that was the end of it: "All Jill knew was that the matter was settled and that Rose continued making films with the Weinsteins. She never knew any details until recently, when Rose elected to make them public." Jill was 50 years old. She is survived by two children, their father, her brother, and her partner. Rose McGowan Pulls Out Of Film Festival Appearance Amid Her Harvey Weinstein Rape Allegations

In case you were unaware, the Charmed alum was slated to be honored with an Ad Astra Award at the Kansas-based film festival. Sadly, 24 hours before her scheduled public appearance, organizers announced that Rose would no longer be coming. Related: All 45 Women Who Have Accused Harvey Weinstein So Far The festival noted via a press release: "We are sorry to announce that we've just been informed that Rose McGowan has canceled all upcoming public appearances due to compounding factors surrounding recent revelations in the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment case." Oh man. We have a feeling this cancellation has something to do with the reports that the indie movie mogul may still be prosecuted for raping McGowan at the Sundance Film Festival in 1997. Not to mention, it's likely that this whole scandal has been emotionally exhausting for the Scream actress. Thankfully, the festival is being VVV understanding about Rose's cancellation. Tallgrass creative director Lela Meadow-Conner added: "While we're disappointed that Rose cannot be here with us in person, we understand that her well being is the priority. We support her and our thoughts are with her. We'll seize this opportunity to amplify her message and celebrate all the women filmmakers with works here at the 15th annual festival." Well said. In place of McGowan's appearance, the festival has pulled together a panel of women filmmakers, named #WokeWomen: A Candid Conversation with Tallgrass' Female Filmmakers. LOVES it! On the quickly assembled panel, Meadow-Conner explained: "The whole world is now aware, in large part due to Rose's efforts, about the rampant sexual harassment within the entertainment industry, and so in her honor, we have pulled together a panel of women filmmakers who will be attending the festival with their films, for a frank conversation, because the message doesn't stop here." AH-Mazing. Still, it's a shame the Harvey drama got in the way of Rose attending this gig. Perhaps she'll be honored again next year?? Oh, we hope so!! [Image via FayesVision/WENN.].....»»
