While he may never compete on RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars, Willam Belli certainly deserves the title. One of the hardest working queens in the biz, this outspoken performer has done it all. From acting in Nip/Tuck, Hurricane Bianca and most recently, stealing scenes from Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga in A Star is Born to recording music and letting YouTubers have it on his web series Beatdown, Willam truly defines what it is to be an all-star. He can now add podcaster to his resume, as he and fellow RPDR alum Alaska bring us Race Chasers, which is described as “a podcast devoted to the discussion and dissection of every episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race starting from the very beginning.” Each Wednesday, the queens recap the series and spill some behind-the-scenes tea. Willam took some time out of his busy schedule to talk about the series what he’s been up to. Socialite Life: What was the inspiration for Race Chasers? Willam: Alaska and I listened to a Golden Girls podcast while leaving Burning Man because an Amber alert was issued so they shut down the exit and we had to wait for 7 hours. Turned out a 17-year-old girl was off fucking her boyfriend and the parents reported her missing. Good for her, I say. But, yeah. I got the idea from that podcast and decided that if RuPaul’s Drag Race wasn’t gonna pay us for repeat airings, I was gonna find a way to make some money offa them by talking about it. SL: How did you come to choose Alaska as your co-host? Willam: She’s the voice of reason and I’m the voice of treason. We complement each other well and she’s my favorite Ru-Girl other than Latrice Motherfuckin’ Royale. .IRPP_minimalist { padding:0px; margin: 0; padding-top:1em!important; padding-bottom:1em!important; width:100%; display: block; font-weight:bold; background-color:#FFFFFF; border:0!important; border-left:4px solid #141414!important; box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -o-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -webkit-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); text-decoration:none; } .IRPP_minimalist:active, .IRPP_minimalist:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; text-decoration:none; } .IRPP_minimalist { transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; } .IRPP_minimalist .ctaText { font-weight:bold; color:#000000; text-decoration:none; font-size: 16px; } .IRPP_minimalist .postTitle { color:#E74C3C; text-decoration: underline!important; font-size: 16px; } .IRPP_minimalist:hover .postTitle { text-decoration: underline!important; } RELATED:  Willam – The Socialite Life Interview SL: Has revisiting the show changed your feelings about working on it? Willam: Nope. SL: Aside from your season (of course), which season are you most looking forward to giving the Race Chasers treatment? Willam: I think season 9 had a lot of strong contenders but I’m also interested in 6 because that’s the one I saw the least of so far. SL: Which season are you least looking forward to? Willam: I dunno. Everyone says 7 is bad but I like having nice things to look at like Violet and Pearl and Fame. SL: Are you going to take on the All-Stars seasons on the podcast? Willam: YES. We’re currently skipping ahead and doing AS4 right now. SL: Have you managed to get a part in whatever they’re filming outside of where you’re recording? Willam: Not yet. But I recently started watching How to Get Away with Murder and they use Boardner’s, the bar next store to my production center, a lot. SL: You have a Race Chasers live show coming to LA in January. Do you have any plans to do more live shows? View this post on Instagram Git 2 da GIG! Race Chaser Live – Jan 11th in LA! SL: Shangela said she auditioned for A Star is Born as a Marilyn Monroe impersonator. What did you do for your ASIB audition? Willam: I did a dead Marilyn Monroe character and then a Barbra Streisand character. I sang and I improvised and read some scenes. It was fun. SL: What was your experience like working on the movie? Willam: It was the best professional experience of my life. SL: Manila Luzon wore the “Jackson breastplate” for a Dolly Parton look for the video “Jolene”. Where is it now? Willam: It’s in a drawer. I drew a reindeer on it and wore it to a Christmas party yesterday. SL: You’ve appeared in a number of movies (and I loved you in Hurricane Bianca) and television shows. What has been your favorite experience? Willam: Nip/Tuck was pretty fuckin’ great. Ryan Murphy is a genius SL: Your book Suck Less is amazing. What inspired you to write it? Willam: Coaching Neil Patrick Harris in all things drag for his role in Hedwig was the genesis. He made some off handed comment like “you should write a book,” so I did. He gave me the best forward for it too. He’s hilarious and great at everything (as is his husband David). .IRPP_minimalist { padding:0px; margin: 0; padding-top:1em!important; padding-bottom:1em!important; width:100%; display: block; font-weight:bold; background-color:#FFFFFF; border:0!important; border-left:4px solid #141414!important; box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -o-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -webkit-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); text-decoration:none; } .IRPP_minimalist:active, .IRPP_minimalist:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; text-decoration:none; } .IRPP_minimalist { transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; } .IRPP_minimalist .ctaText { font-weight:bold; color:#000000; text-decoration:none; font-size: 16px; } .IRPP_minimalist .postTitle { color:#E74C3C; text-decoration: underline!important; font-size: 16px; } .IRPP_minimalist:hover .postTitle { text-decoration: underline!important; } RELATED:  Shangela: The Socialite Life Interview SL: You have made a name for yourself in music. Is that something you always wanted to do? Willam: I’m a comedian who uses music. Chris Hardwick is my idol in that sense. Tenacious D, Weird Al, people like that SL: If you aren’t busy enough, you are also a viral video sensation with your Beatdown series. Has anyone ever taken offense at your critiques? Willam: I’m sure they have. People come up to me and tell me they were on it and I can’t even remember. Then they get offended again that I forgot them. SL: When do you sleep? Willam: No one ever looks back on life and says, “damn I wish i slept more.” You only live once. SL: Who do you think will win All-Stars 4? Willam: RuPaul. SL: Is there anything else you’d like to promote? Willam: My album Songs in the Key of Nope (available at www.willambelli.com/nope) and my YouTube channel which has had two new videos a week for the past year now going strong: www.youtube.com/noextrai. Bill Skarsgård Says The Most "Disturbing" Pennywise Scene Had To Be Cut Out Of The IT Remake!

Bill Skarsgård makes a delightfully terrifying Pennywise the Dancing Clown in IT — but apparently, the most terrifying scene didn't even make the final cut of the remake! In an interview with Variety's Playback podcast, the actor revealed that production filmed a scene set in the early 17th century, showing the origin of Pennywise and his interactions with the founding members of Derry, Maine. Video: James Corden Is A Hilariously Scary Pennywise In IT Spoof! He teased: "There's a scene that we shot that was a flashback scene from the 1600s. Where Pennywise was before ‘Pennywise.' And we shot it for additional shooting and the scene turned out REALLY, REALLY disturbing. And It's me ... I'm not the clown, I look more like myself." The scene, which some theorized could be from an earlier draft of the script by Cary Fukunaga, shows a mother allowing the monster to devour her daughter in exchange for safety. Skarsgård explained that in this scene, Pennywise didn't look like the clown the children see, but appeared "incomplete, his flesh pale and translucent, like a half-formed imitation of a human." Related: Pennywise & The Babadook Are TOTALLY Dating Now! The 27-year-old didn't go into much more detail about the scene shot, because we may actually get to see it in Chapter 2 of the Stephen King remake. He continued: "I'm not gonna spoil what the scene is, because we might use it [in the sequel]. But it's a very disturbing scene, sort of a backstory for what IT is or where Pennywise came from. ... The idea is that IT, the entity, was dormant or resting for thousands of thousands of years and it [the scene] hints on [the founding of Derry]." Sounds creepy! Whether in the sequel or on the bonus features of the IT Blu-Ray, we hope we'll get to see Pennywise's eerie origin story sooner or later... Take a listen to the actor's full interview (below). From the busy streets of the Big Apple during the pre-Christmas shopping rush, Manila took some time out of her busy schedule to chat about how she made it to Drag Race 3, her fabulous life in heels and makeup and her special connection to a season 2 standout! Socialite Life: Where are you right now? In New York? Manila Luzon: Yep, I’m walking the streets and Santa’s Salvation Army is ringing their bells! Sorry, it’s so loud! SL: You are the successor to Ongina and Jujubee in being the Asian queen this season. Manila: I am glad to represent the Asian community here in America, in the trans world! So, I’m happy to do that. SL: You’re from Minnesota, right? Manila: Yes I am. Born and raised! I spent the first part of my life there before I turned to bigger and better places – like New York City! SL: Is your family from the Philippines? Manila: My mother is originally from the Philippines and she moved to the States to pursue her education and she met my father here, he’s from Minnesota – just a jolly little red-headed white boy – corn fed! So I’m actually a mix. The genes managed to make two beautiful children – well, three if you count Manila! SL: How did you end up choosing Manila Luzon as your drag name? Manila: I chose Manila because I wanted to celebrate my Filipino heritage. Growing up in Minnesota, where it’s mostly white people, I thought that bringing my Asian-ness to my drag would be fun. So I chose the name Manila because I think it sounds pretty and that’s where my mother was born, that’s where she’s from and Luzon is an island that Manila is on in the Philippines. It’s kind of like the equivalent of calling yourself “Albany New York” if you’re a queen from New York. So far, from the feedback I’ve gotten, some people love it and some people think it’s ridiculous. Whatever, it’s a drag queen name! Honestly, I couldn’t think of anything funny, like Rhubarb Pie or some funny, pun name that drag queens come up with. But I love my name and I think it suits me really well! View this post on Instagram She means business! On top of the Empire State Building in my Manila envelope suit by @marcosquared #allstars4 A post shared by Manila Luzon (@manilaluzon) on Dec 7, 2018 at 8:34am PST SL: When did you get started doing drag? Manila: When I first came out of the closet, I decided that I would start doing drag, pursuing it for real. I’ve always loved it and been intrigued by it and as a child, watching RuPaul and Dame Edna on TV – I’ve always been very interested in it. And I love the movie Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and my mother took me to the opening of To Wong Foo and I loved it. It was just something I really, really wanted to do all my life and any excuse that I could get when I was a little kid to put myself in a wig and my mom’s lipstick and some dresses she had in her closet – I would jump at that opportunity. So, when I came out of the closet as a homo boy, I thought what better way to come out than to go full out and be a drag queen? SL: What do you enjoy most about performing? Manila: Well, actually I don’t perform on stage that much, lip-syncing numbers because I live in New York City and there really isn’t that much opportunity to do it. I do like getting dressed up and going out to parties. I use it as a way to express myself creatively. I love to doll myself up and make myself pretty and I love the attention people give me. And, when I go to parties, all I have to do is drink alcohol and talk to people in the clubs and not even learn one song! It’s easy because I don’t have to lip sync. I do occasionally perform but I don’t – like most drag queens that I know, where they have a show and they do a weekly thing, and they do numbers – I don’t actually do that. I have when I started in Minnesota but when I moved to New York City it’s just a different environment here. SL: I saw some of your red carpet pictures with Sahara Davenport (from season two of Drag Race – and also Manila’s boyfriend), and you two make a great couple! Manila: That’s what I mostly love doing – getting glammed up, I’ll spend all my time and energy putting my look together and we jump in the cab, we go to the party and we just mingle with people and have a good time, drink, dance, laugh and stumble our way home at the end of the night – or morning! SL: I love Sahara. Did she give you any tips before you went on the show? Manila: Well, honestly, having Sahara going before me really wasn’t that much help in the competition; but I did kind of pretty much know the workings of post-show, like what’s happening now. The challenges are all different, the girls are all different, Ru had some fiercer looks this season and she asked so much more of her girls this year, so in the competition I really had no more of an advantage than any of the other girls who had talked to their girlfriends who had already been on the show. Not girlfriends – I mean like, “Hey, girlfriend!” Like that! (Laughs) It was anyone’s game. We were all getting the information that day, that moment at the same time. So Sahara being on the show wasn’t that big of an advantage. View this post on Instagram It’s the Happiest Season of All!! #christmasqueens4 #AS4 : @sistemichcom A post shared by Manila Luzon (@manilaluzon) on Nov 19, 2018 at 8:53am PST SL: Would you wanted to have competed against Sahara on the show? Manila: Well, I think that we would have ended up becoming a tag team and we probably would have kicked some girls’ butts if we were on the show together and then we would have probably gone all the way to the end and then it would have been a free-for-all! We do have a little bit of a rivalry between us but it’s out of love of what we do. So, when we’re getting ready for a night on the town, and she’s putting some rhinestones on her face, I’m going to put some rhinestones on my face – I’m going to put on extra ones! If she’s going to jack her hair up, I’m going to jack my hair up! So, in that aspect, we like to compete – but once we hit the club, we are so done that people don’t know what to do. We are so sickening because we’ve been sitting in front of the mirror getting ready, trying to one-up each other! SL: How long does it take you to get ready? Manila: You know, the actual process is hard to measure because, for me, there’s a lot of preparation time, but if someone called me up and said, “Hey, there’s a party tonight”, it would probably take me about two hours to jump in the shower, shave, throw my makeup on, style a wig quick and find something in the closet. SL: I heard that you brought 1,000 pairs of eyelashes with you to the show, how true is that? Manila: Well, I think 1,000 might be an exaggeration! But, because I stack all of my eyelashes on top of each other, it maybe was 500 pairs – and I was probably also counting individuals! SL: What beauty secret can you share with us? Manila: My beauty secret would be…well, I could give you this whole “beauty comes from within” spiel, but a lot of pancake makeup really helps! And powder yourself, you don’t want to be shiny! SL: When you were told you were going to be on the show, what was your first reaction? Manila: Well, I felt bad because I was at the office – I have a day job – and I got the phone call and I was trying to be really quiet because I didn’t want to start screaming in my office and I’m trying not to draw attention to myself because I needed an excuse to leave work for a while. So, I was really, really quiet. I was really relieved. I was screaming in the inside but I was trying not to make a scene at work. The producer who called me was like, “You don’t seem very excited” and I was like (whispering) “I’m sorry. I’m at work!” and that’s why I wasn’t jumping up and down and screaming. But later that night, I was jumping and screaming and running around in the streets in Times Square, just ecstatic. I was relieved because the audition process was really, really long! SL: What is your day job? Manila: I am a graphic designer and I work for a design firm here in New York. So, I am a creative person, I always wanted to be an artist when I grew up and the career I chose as a graphic designer just seemed like so much fun and I enjoy doing it a lot. But, when you’re working in an office job and you have clients – and you’ve got to answer to them and working in a company, it’s not your own artistry all of the time. So I like to use my drag as my creative outlet, despite the fact that I work in a creative field. During the day, I make fun pictures on the computer, and at night, I get to make fun pictures on my face! SL: What was it like working with RuPaul? Manila: Oh my God, it was totally amazing! She looks exactly the same as she does on TV, it’s creepy. When we first walked up on the runway and saw her sitting there, I was like, “Am I watching TV?” because she was so beautiful and so nice and genuine. And she has so many positive things and life lessons to teach, which was so weird because in “drag queen land” we’re all fighting to find a bigger and better place and she’s been there and she’s really willing to share her stories and give us advice and life lessons – and it applies not just to drag, but to everyday life as well – which I thought was great. She’s just a Very sweet person and very beautiful. SL: When you were starting out in drag, who did you look up to? View this post on Instagram Backstage A post shared by Manila Luzon (@manilaluzon) on Aug 29, 2018 at 10:36am PDT Manila: You know, that’s a tough question because there’s not one particular person that I’ve tried to emulate. I love getting my inspiration from different kinds of places and from different people. I think I get a lot of my style from my mother, she used to dress me when I was a little kid and everything was always “matchy-matchy”, like I’d have a pair of green pants to go with my green shirt. I have to say my mother had a little bit of a costume designer in her because she’d put me and my sister in themed outfits for holidays. My sister and I would always be wearing red and white with little heart pins on Valentine’s Day and she’d always buy me a pair of white pants to go with my green sweater for St. Patrick’s Day and she loved making our little costumes for Halloween. One of my earliest memories is the smell of my mother’s lipstick – I don’t know, lipstick smelled different in the 80s than it does now. I had it all over my face when I went as a clown one year, I loved that particularly. So as far as getting my style, my mother I’d have to say, but I also really like finding inspiration in completely random things. Like, I go to the dollar store a lot try looking for cheap things like, “Oh, look, cotton balls are on sale. Let’s make a cotton ball dress!” It’s interesting because you’ve just got to be crafty. You don’t make a lot of money as a drag queen so you’ve got to find ways to make glamour out of sometimes nothing and it was really helpful when I went on the show and they were asking us to make some crazy things out of crazy things! I can’t go into any more detail than that, but you’ve seen the show before! SL: What are you looking to do as far as your drag career after the show? Are you going to release any music like Sahara did? Manila: I am no one’s singer, I can hold a tune but if Ke$ha can have an album, I suppose I could if I wanted to but…I don’t know…I’m just going to see the response I get from being in the show. I won’t know until I see it on the show. I do really want to pursue my drag now. It’s a promise I made when I sent in my tape – if I make it on the show, I’m going to try to see if I can pay my rent doing this because I enjoy it so much and being on the show would really give me the opportunity to do that. I’ve been at my day job for going on six years now and it was my first job out of school. I need any excuse to find a new thing to do and this is a godsend, honestly, because it’s something I love doing and I’m good at it. I think! It’s helped me keep pushing myself to excel at it. In my drag, I always leave room for improvement. When I get home at the end of the night and I look at my face in the mirror – and the makeup’s all melting off after drinking and partying, I always think that my next time in drag is going to be even better than this one – and that’s what I was doing on the show. I was trying to push myself to do something extra, pushing myself creatively and pushing my drag further. I have come so far from when I first started that I can only imagine how amazing it’s going to be – and feel – down the road. SL: How can fans stay in touch with you? Manila: I have a website, ManilaLuzon.com and there you can find links to my Twitter and I have a Facebook fan page, so follow me! Hopefully, after the show, I’ll have a lot of gigs in the future and be traveling the world so maybe I’ll come to a gay bar or Ramada Inn near you! If you want to see me, go to your local gay bar and say “Come up with the coins and call Miss Manila!” This article was originally published on January 23, 2011. With the premiere of the third season of the runaway hit RuPaul’s Drag Race only weeks away, we want you to get to know a little more about the dynamic divas fighting for the crown of “America’s Next Drag Superstar”. To kick things off, we introduce you to the fiery (and fierce, of course) Alexis Mateo. This Sunshine State stunner and Puerto Rican transplant took some time to talk to us about his influences, style and the surprising place where he picked up a lot of the skills that have made him a Florida favorite! Socialite Life: Hi Alexis! How are you? Alexis Mateo: I am great! It’s cold in Florida, but it’s cute! SL: Now I know you are from Puerto Rico, when did you move to the US? Alexis: I moved here in 2001, and it wasn’t until 2006 that I started performing. SL: How did you get started performing? Alexis: It’s complicated, girl! (Laughs) I moved to Orlando because I wanted to be part of Walt Disney (World) entertainment and you know how we are – one day all of my roommates wanted to try this talent show, and we dressed up for the first time for this talent show and I won and everyone was like “You should take this seriously!” (Sigh)…and here I am! .IRPP_minimalist { padding:0px; margin: 0; padding-top:1em!important; padding-bottom:1em!important; width:100%; display: block; font-weight:bold; background-color:#FFFFFF; border:0!important; border-left:4px solid #141414!important; box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -o-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -webkit-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); text-decoration:none; } .IRPP_minimalist:active, .IRPP_minimalist:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; text-decoration:none; } .IRPP_minimalist { transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; } .IRPP_minimalist .ctaText { font-weight:bold; color:#000000; text-decoration:none; font-size: 16px; } .IRPP_minimalist .postTitle { color:#E74C3C; text-decoration: underline!important; font-size: 16px; } .IRPP_minimalist:hover .postTitle { text-decoration: underline!important; } RELATED:  Talking Race Chasers and A Star is Born with Willam SL: Did you work with Disney? Alexis: Yes, I worked with Disney for five years and it was great. I was a character at Disney and I became a dancer after my first year. It was fun. I love Disney, Disney is everything for me. I’m still with Disney – I’m a seasonal (part-time) cast member there. View this post on Instagram #christmas #dragrace. #bam A post shared by Alexis Mateo (@miss_alexis_mateo) on Dec 26, 2018 at 7:19am PST SL: Is drag your full-time job now? Alexis: Yes, yes it is. SL: What do you enjoy most about performing? Alexis: That’s interesting (laughs)! It’s all about you and the rest is partying, girl! And that’s why I love it so much! At Disney, I’m a background dancer, normally in parades or something – I always do The Lion King and shows like that. I love drag because it gives me the chance to be myself and be the main attraction. SL: How would you describe Alexis? Alexis: Alexis is crazy, gorgeous, classy, sassy and you know, she can go get ‘em sometimes, but it’s always fun. You’ll always have a great time with Alexis. SL: Who inspires you as a performer? Alexis: A lot of things I’ve seen in my life inspire me. I take something from everybody and put it into me and it becomes the person that I am. Alicia Markstone is one of my idols here in Orlando and my best friend Coco Montrese (Miss Gay America 2010) has always inspired me. Out of the drag scene, I live for Beyonce – sometimes I think I’m Beyonce! She’s one of my favorite idols on TV and I always love her music and everything, so I always take everything from her style and dancing, performing and everything. That’s my idols. SL: Have you had dance training? Alexis: Yes. I went to dance school in Puerto Rico and when I came back here I went to dance school for Disney as well. SL: Do you sing? Alexis: Sometimes, girl, in the shower – like everybody else- or when I’m on a trip in the car. I do my own concerts when I’m driving around. View this post on Instagram #halloween gigs #bam A post shared by Alexis Mateo (@miss_alexis_mateo) on Oct 20, 2018 at 5:23pm PDT SL: I was just wondering because a lot of queens this season were boasting that they sing live now and I was just curious. Alexis: Oh, no girl! I keep it serious and I keep it professional. I’m not a singer. I can do my makeup good but I cannot sing well! I mean, I can try, but I’m not a recording artist (laughs). SL: When you got the call to be on Drag Race, what was your first reaction? Alexis: I passed out. I freaked out. I cried – and then I called back again to make sure it was true. And then I again cried, freaked out, sweated and got nervous. All of the above at the same time (laughs)! SL: Had you tried out before? Alexis: I did, I actually followed from the beginning of the idea of RuPaul…before season one, I was following very closely. I did audition for the first season and then I did it for season two and I did it for season three. I was like “I’m going to continue until I make it” – and I did! SL: I read that you sew and do makeup and hair. Were you formally trained in any of these, or did you just pick up these skills up along the way? Alexis: No, that’s all that I learned on my way here. At Disney, they actually teach you some stuff, but they don’t train you in it. When you’re a character at Disney, you have to know all of this for parades and such. By this time, everything I know (about that) is everything I have picked up on the way here. SL: When you got to the show and saw another Puerto Rican queen there (Yara Sofia), did you feel any special competition? Alexis: No. I was mad at first – I wanted to be the only Puerto Rican! I tried to plan how to make her “disappear” from the show but I was like, no, because I could see myself in jail so let’s just keep her near to you (laughs). And I became friends – we’re really good friends now. I love Yara Sofia and it was funny because my town in Puerto Rico and her town in are so close together and my house and her house are so close – from her house to my house is only five minutes – and I have never met her in Puerto Rico. It was so weird! I was like, “Are you sure you lived there?” And she’s like, “Yes”. It’s so weird. And Puerto Rico is so small, everybody knows each other and it was like “Oh my gosh!  Cool beans! Fun times…I was excited to see her there. SL: There’s such a diverse cast this season. What was it like working with such a wide variety of queens with such different styles? Alexis: (Laughs) Girl, it’s horrible (laughs)! It was fun to meet everybody. It was horrible to try to compete with everybody. The girls are amazing in different ways and you never know who’s the best just because everybody is so different and unique that it actually makes you work harder and it makes you sweat a lot. It’s a horrible feeling inside because you know it’s a competition, but at the same time, it’s wonderful to see that everybody else has a different idea about something. View this post on Instagram Cinderella dreams…#bam A post shared by Alexis Mateo (@miss_alexis_mateo) on Jul 28, 2018 at 4:55pm PDT SL: Did you enjoy working with RuPaul? Alexis: I love RuPaul. RuPaul was a big name for me because in Puerto Rico you don’t see a lot of drag stuff – there’s not much of a gay scene. But, because RuPaul was in videos and music and all of that, that was the only drag that I could see and to have him in front of me was an amazing experience – just to see him “He’s in front of me!” and I thought I would pass out or something. But it was wonderful to work with him because he is a really nice person and he actually talked to us like we’re human beings. It was fun times. I don’t regret anything because I got to meet RuPaul (laughs)! SL: When you do drag, what is the one thing you can’t be without? Alexis: Oh my gosh, my thing is ponytails! You know, I can do my makeup and I can be completely dressed up, but if I don’t have my hair on I don’t feel complete! And I am a fan of ponytails. I love to have ponytails. I love moving them around. Everything that has to do with ponytails and hairpieces is my favorite stuff. I don’t wear full wigs, all I do in my hair is pieces. If I don’t have my hair, I’m not complete, so that’s my favorite part. No facial hair though (laughs)! .IRPP_minimalist { padding:0px; margin: 0; padding-top:1em!important; padding-bottom:1em!important; width:100%; display: block; font-weight:bold; background-color:#FFFFFF; border:0!important; border-left:4px solid #141414!important; box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -o-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -webkit-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); text-decoration:none; } .IRPP_minimalist:active, .IRPP_minimalist:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; text-decoration:none; } .IRPP_minimalist { transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; } .IRPP_minimalist .ctaText { font-weight:bold; color:#000000; text-decoration:none; font-size: 16px; } .IRPP_minimalist .postTitle { color:#E74C3C; text-decoration: underline!important; font-size: 16px; } .IRPP_minimalist:hover .postTitle { text-decoration: underline!important; } RELATED:  Latrice Royale – The Socialite Life Interview SL: Do you have a beauty secret you can share? Alexis: A beauty secret…hmmm…a lot of Chinese food can make you gorgeous! I eat a lot of Chinese food and I’m gorgeous, so I’m sure it works for everybody else as well (laughs)! SL: What are you looking to accomplish for yourself by appearing on Drag Race? Alexis: What I was looking for ways to get noticed because it’s very difficult here in Florida – especially in Florida because we have so much competition – that you can actually get your name out there and be recognized for your job. I would love to travel. I would love to tour. I would love to perform in different places – especially in Puerto Rico where I have never performed in my life – I would love to accomplish that with Drag Race. SL: So there’s not really a big drag scene in Puerto Rico? Alexis: No, there’s actually a big scene in Puerto Rico. Drag in bars in Puerto Rico is very nice – it’s very competitive as well – but because I started doing drag in the United States, I never had a chance to do it in Puerto Rico, so I want to go back and actually do it in Puerto Rico, in my hometown. Stephen King Thinks It"s "Fascinating" People Still Care So Much About The Child Gangbang Scene In IT!

Obviously it was left out of the 1990 TV miniseries, and once again you don't have to worry about it being in the new hit Hollywood film. But um, why the eff does it exist in the first place?? Basically, after defeating the evil clown, the Losers' Club find themselves lost in the sewers. So Bev, the sole girl in the group, decides they all have to lose their virginity together to regain their closeness as a group and find a way out. Related: IT Remake — What Critics Are Saying! Obviously, that makes NO sense out of context (or even in context), but suffice to say ultimately the scene is a metaphor for the transition of the children to adulthood. Author Stephen King explained on a comment board on his website back in 2013: "I wasn't really thinking of the sexual aspect of it. The book dealt with childhood and adulthood –1958 and Grown Ups. The grown ups don't remember their childhood. None of us remember what we did as children–we think we do, but we don't remember it as it really happened. Intuitively, the Losers knew they had to be together again. The sexual act connected childhood and adulthood. It's another version of the glass tunnel that connects the children's library and the adult library. Times have changed since I wrote that scene and there is now more sensitivity to those issues." Have times really changed that much? We feel like there was always sensitivity to the issue of child orgies, even in 1986 when the novel came out; there was just less social media through which people could share their feelings of disgust at the scene. As the new film was coming out, and wisely eschewing any mention of the group sex, King was asked again about the scene and his previous comment. He told Vulture simply: "To it I'd just add that it's fascinating to me that there has been so much comment about that single sex scene and so little about the multiple child murders. That must mean something, but I'm not sure what." Oof. This is such a spurious deflection. Related: Small Town Police 'Completely Terrified' To Remove IT-Style Red Balloons Tied To Sewer Grates! No one is implicitly giving the thumbs up to child murder because they aren't up in arms about the child-eating monster killing kids. He's the bad guy. The evil. He's supposed to kill and eat kids. No, what a great many readers over the years have taken issue with is the idea that a bunch of 11-year-olds would do that were they not puppeteered by a twisted adult author. We mean, the scene is multiple pages of detailed description of preteen gangbang. Its very existence is more than troubling. We're just glad everyone involved in every aspect of the film (even the infamously more violent leaked Cary Fukunaga script) had the sense to do what King's editors couldn't and cut that shit out.
